On a serious note...theres some good continuation there. Some experienced lads and very good players.

Ireland U20 squad for World Rugby U20 Championship

Forwards: Billy Bohan, Billy Corrigan, Michael Foy, Conor Kennelly, Tom McAllister, Éanna McCarthy, Luke McLaughlin, Oisin Minogue, Paddy Moore, Alex Mullan, Luke Murphy, Bobby Power, Mahon Ronan, Alex Usanov, Henry Walker, David Walsh, Mikey Yarr.

Backs: Connor Fahy, Paidi Farrell, Dan Green, Clark Logan, Ciaran Mangan, Derry Moloney, Charlie Molony, Chris O'Connor, Gene O'Leary Kareem, Eoghan Smyth, Sam Wisniewski, Tom Wood, Will Wootton.

Danger of relegation imo. Usanov back but still missing Smyth, Spicer, and Murphy.

Not sure why Aaron O'Brien and Moynihan's can't get a look in.

Also don't particularly rate Doak as a coach.

Doak is terrible and keatley isn't much better.

OBrien is injured.

Not sure what happened with Moynihan, went looking like a certain future academy player to nothing. Thought he went well for UCD at ail, maybe it's off field related?

Todd Lawlor was set to start at 15 but broke his leg against Scotland u20.

No Emmet Calvey either due to injury. Along with Niall Smyth and Alan Spicer.

Thought Outhalf Conor O'Shaughnessy was worth a look was nominated as 1B player of the season as a 18/19 year old.

Expect them to lose every game they play unfortunately

Yeah this is a bad crop of 20s and they're not set up to play to their strengths by Doak either. We absolutely don't have the size to play crashball bully rugby but they still give it a go.

A good few of the lads I thought would be academy certs are injured or just not picked. I think we should be a bit better next year again. Losing to Scotland is so poor.

Ah hadn't heard O'Brien was injured again.

Have been told Moynihan has a Connacht academy spot.

Lots of weapons, but no-one to wield them; no-one to put them in the right areas of the pitch and organise things.
Put a half-decent FH in there (there were 2 available) and I'd be confident.
Sadly, Ollie Davies and James Linegar will be watching on telly.

Do the u18s have anything over the summer? Or u19s?
Maybe they just feel they're too young or something

U18s usually have a world-cup type competition in July.
Linegar's been to 2 of them already, so I'm not sure if he's aged out for this year (I think it depends on when his birthday is - year 13, but does he turn 18 before or after Jan 1st?); but either way, has played alongside these U20 boys already
Pretty sure Davies is older - he certainly already has a couple of U20 caps, so certainly isn't too young

I think Mapletoft just trusts Bellamy and Coen (way) more than I do. I've watched both through U18 and U20 - and yet to be impressed by either.

Davies is still only 18, but yeah - thought he might be in the mix after coming in as cover during the 6N

I admit to getting confused on this; but IIRC for these summer tourneys; has to have turned 18 after Jan 1st to be eligible.
For the 6N the date is September 1st.

I may be wrong on the dates, and even reserve the right to be wrong on "turn 18", rather than "turn 19"

Either way, both have played with and against these same players; so not really "too young" - especially for a position like FH where physicality is less of an issue

Ah that does make sense, Davies only turned 18 in December
Then, IF my recollection is accurate, he wouldn't be eligible for U18 this summer, but Linegar would
I'd far rather Davies than either option the U20s are taking with them

Wales squad:

Forwards: Ioan Emanuel, Louie Trevett, Harry Thomas, Saul Hurley, Evan Wood, Sam Scott, Owain James, Jac Pritchard, Luke Evans, Kenzie Jenkins, Nick Thomas, Tom Cottle, Dan Gemine, Deian Gwynne, Harry Beddall (capt), Caio James, Evan Minto.

Backs: Sion Davies, Ellis Lewis, Harri Wilde, Harri Ford, Steffan Emanuel, Elis Price, Elijah Evans, Osian Roberts, Osian Darwin-Lewis, Aidan Boshoff, Lewis Edwards, Jack Woods, Tom Bowen.

Handy looking squad. Still annoyed about Morse's omission. Probably good enough to tour with the senior squad, but understand going with experience there with where we are, but not sure why he's then not going with the U20's? These players don't really need too much managing, they simply need to play, and the U20 WC is packed full of talent to test against. Imo it would have benefitted the squad and Morse.

Where can I put money on the U20 Worldcup? I checked a site called licensedbettingsites.com but could not find a clear answer.
