It's a quite Sunday afternoon and I have been thinking.
A 3 Tier Six Nations involving the top 18 teams in Europe.
Tier 1
England(3)
Ireland(4)
France(5)
Wales(6)
Scotland(8)
Italy(14)
Tier 2
Georgia(12)
Spain(18)
Romania(19)
Russia(20)
Portugal (21)
Netherlands(25)
Tier 3
Belgium (27)
Switzerland (28)
Germany (30)
Poland (34)
Ukraine (36)
Czech Republic (37)
(1)=World ranking
All tiers will play at the same time using the same format as present Six Nations.
At the end of each competition the bottom team will play a one off game with the team that finished top of the tier below with the top position team getting home advantage.
With not having a 4th tier I was think the rest of the team in Europe could play a tournament of some sort and the winner will play Tier 3 bottom team for a change to get into the Six Nations.
Not sure if it would be possible or if the teams would want to do this. I don't have a clue what the rest of the Europe do outside the Six Nations.
What do people think?
