A Political Thread pt. 2

So no flags should be flown?

I think thats their argument, flags are flown regularly, its only the cross that seems to be the problem
Not if they're not securely fastened.

Imagine driving down the motorway at 75mph and a flag came off a bridge and covered your windscreen, or you were passing a school at chucking out time and a flag detached from a lamppost with the same result.

What would you do?
Who's responsible?

Not really politics but wasn't sure where else to post

BBC News - Taking 23 A-Levels 'not stressful at all' says Slough student - BBC News

Taking 23 A levels is absolutely bonkers. I have no idea how on earth she managed it, it's incredible.

And 34 GCSEs.

Don’t know whether to rant about the exams being too easy or the need to get out more. Either way it’s just not healthy.

BBC News - Excel Parking firm pays £10,240 after losing court appeal - BBC News

I may be missing something but it sounds like Excel parking only had to pay the legal fees rather than reimbursing her for all the fines.

There also doesn't appear to be any sort of meaningful punitive aspect to the ruling against the car park operator.

I dont think shes paid any of the fines...

These scumbag companies never get any justice actioned against them, its why there are so many and theyre all run by cowboys.

I may have misread the story but it implies she initially paid them but then refused later. Either way, they appear to be involved in systemic harassment of their unreasonable terms even after losing in court, there should be punitive damages against them beyond the piffling charity sum.

Ye it is written a bit ambiguously. I thought she paid the first 2, but then racked up thousands of pounds more shes been fighting and they've been harassing her for.

A reminder she plead guilty to laws the party her husband represents introduced.

She was 100% guilty! What she tweeted wasnt speech, it was incitement and a call to action, and im probably one of the most ardent free speech advocates around...

But 31 months, in line with convicted peadophiles who have harmed and distrubuted thousands of child images.

She could have easily been dealt with at home, there was no threat to the community, and there is a small extenuating circumstance.

What I find so amazing is the false claims she didn't know what she was pleading guilty to, pushed by particular 'journalists'.

I think she definately knew what she was pleading guilty too, its the disproportionate sentence that shocked her IMO.

I havnt watched the interview though, so she may well just be doing a full 180 and trying to play innocent.

I'm guessing she had a brief who would have advised her to plead guilty. First offence, no previous I'm guessing they thought she'd avoid a custodial sentence.

In hindsight she'd have probably been better going not out just because even if she were found guilty. I doubt she'd have served anymore jail time than she did.
