New Zealand rugby can be cruel to up and coming talents, for those who have special abilities but who have the misfortune to be at their best when so many other good players abound.</P></td></tr></table>

Great news... waiting for Atiga, Tuitavake, etc

But it will be very difficult to replace Luke.

    Who's Atiga again?

Blimey, he was in the 2003 NZ world cup squad and since then I've hardly ever seen him. Doesn't even get many chances with the Blues.

I still can't see a spot for him in the Blues backline this year with Tuitavake and Toeava in the centers, Evans/Nacewa at fullback and Rokocoko/Wulf/Smith on the wings.

  5. he is a very unlucky player. he is strong in ball in hand, and when playing in the centres, on a good day is electric. it really is a pity that there has been no room for him, with people as said before, like toeava and tuatavaki atm, and mccallister, tupuki in the past.

Maybe he should consider a move to Otago? At least then he'll actually be playing 100% of the time, regardless how **** the Highlanders are.

  7. thats what i was thinking too. but methinks he would be perfect for japan, and come back in 2-3 seasons like flavel has. he has potential. just needs alot of tuning.

Atiga a pretty decent centre, but crap fullback though.

His form for the Auckland NPC side the last few years has been fantastic, but like many others have pointed out, he's been limited in the S14 with so many talented backs at the Blues.

He used to be a really hot prosepct. But he stopped growing in terms of his potential as a footy player

He is my number one choice to play 13 for NZ on Rugby06 even though I don't like him in real life. Great support, excellent accleration and speed, great tackler...works well with Mauger.
