All Things Rock Band - DLC updates & RB2 News

NEWS ALERT!

Harmonix released a list of 6 new albums that are going to hit the music store on Rock Band 2:

Foo Fighters (The Colour and the Shape)
Red Hot Chili Peppers (Blood Sugar Sex Magik)
Jane's Addiction (Nothing's Shocking)
Megadeth (Peace Sells... But Who's Buying)
Stevie Ray Vaughn (Texas Flood)
And also a specially-compiled No Doubt Best Of collection.

Along with that is a first peek at the games intro movie, catch it here...looks pretty sweet.

ALSO...

Harmonix had this to say in relation to Rush's "Moving Pictures" DLC being delayed...

“Hey everybody,

Unfortunately, due to unforeseen technical difficulties, we won’t be able to release Rush’s “Moving Pictures†this week. We’ll be working on it as hard as we can, but it looks like it could be a couple of weeks to fix. In the meantime we will be moving around our schedule so we still have DLC coming out each week (including this week, info to follow in another announcement).

DLC ALERT!

(Taken from G4.com)

" Good news, geeks and gamers: In honor of the Penny Arcade Expo, Harmonix is dropping a three-pack of the greatest nerd rock on earth on Rock Band! It's truly a historic collection:
  • Jonathan Coulton: "Skullcrusher Mountain". Coulton is the singer/songwriter behind Portal's end-credit song "Still Alive" and the theme to Code Monkeys.
  • MC Frontalot: "Livin' at the Corner of Dude and Catastrophe." Nerdcore rap impresario MC Frontalot throws down in Rock Band!
  • Darkest of the Hillside Thickets: "Shhhh." This track is from the most famous Lovecraftian rock and roll combo in history--yes, there is more than one. Trust us: You'll like it."
Good news is that these tracks won't cost more than 80 MS points each, I thought they where terrible, although...having said that..Darkest of the hillside thickets didn't sound too bad tbh.

NEWS ALERT!

Nirvana's Nevermind album has been promised as DLC for Rock Band 2 via Harmonix. It's about time too!

According to Microsoft, all proceeds made from the song pack is donated to Child's Play, so at least its for a good cause.
