The star-studded all-French Amlin Challenge Cup semi-finals will be an all-Irish affair as far as referees are concerned with Alain Rolland and George Clancy taking charge of the Toulon v Stade Francais Paris and Biarritz Olympique v Brive matches.
Rolland will referee the intriguing clash of the 2010 Amlin Challenge Cup runners-up and last season’s beaten finalists when Toulon take on Stade Francais at Stade Félix Mayol on Friday, 27 April, while his compatriot, George Clancy, will be on duty for the Biarritz-Brive last four game at Parc des Sports Aguiléra the following day.
The Amlin Challenge Cup referee and assistant referee appointments were made by the ERC Match Officials Sub Committee taking into consideration a comprehensive ongoing review of performances across all relevant tournaments in conjunction with referee managers in each Union. ERC also provides an opportunity for coaches to share their feedback on the performance of match officials and that feedback is considered in the review process.
