Argentina vs England - 12/07/25

100% should be Langdon starting. Dan is only a justifiable selection as an impact sub IMO.

This. Sheehan and Kelleher will be 2 and 16 so why rush flying over a 3rd choice?

Risk that George gets injured v Argentina

TBF england are prob doing it as a favour to George also, imagine getting injured in a friendly game the day you get called up for your 3rd lions tour

Oh **** off! He could have at least played the game.

We ain't winning now with Dan. Hopefully Langdon on after 30 minutes.

Given that us winning this game leads directly to our ranking position for the world cup draw.

George would help that and he could be on a plane tonight.

On Dan he is a good player but he has some bad defensive reads at times and his lineouts can be spotty.

Is hooker a current area of strength or weakness? We have some decent options but 2 top ones are on the wrong side of 30 and them below don't have much experience really.

LCD is a worry, he's had so many concussions from his signature technique, this one could end up being his last.

George isn't getting any younger

Dan fails to impress.

Hopefully Langdon makes the step up and Blamire kicks on at Leicester and both are firing by 2027

LCD seemed ok when he came out during the second half so hopefully it is not a major concussion.

Think we're in a good position with hookers tbh, just need to be getting caps into the right players

Few very experienced
Few likely just entering their prime
Few young guns for the future

Think Oghre could have a part to play (well: I think he should, but SB doesn't seem to care - never know, maybe he gets flown out to America tomorrow), he's improved a lot since joining Bristol

Wouldn't be surprised to see Kepu Tuipolotu in the next A game if he declares for England

Yeah certainly looks that way, but you never know - age grade isn't always the best indicator as (Kpoku aside) players tend to just play for the country they're currently playing in

Obv I think he's a great player and would be a great addition, but I wouldn't begrudge him if he went back to Wales - I hope Kane James does as well tbh
Would imagine being forced to sign for a region would put them off though

Kane James would have to displace some very good back rowers who aren't too much older than him, so from a practical point of view, I could see him going to Wales. I'm not sure he's such an obvious stand out as Tuipolotu, who could very quickly become one of the best two or three hookers in England.

It doesn't always work out the way you'd expect, I suppose. Cam Redpath probably thought he might have along career being inked in in the centre for Scotland.

I wonder how much the decision is based on 'belonging' and how much on the expected career trajectory?

Same South African commentators as last week
