[h=3]Los Pumas fixture list confirmed for 2012[/h]

The governing body of Argentine rugby, the UAR has announced an impressive list of fixtures both home and away for Los Pumas in 2012. Argentina is to take on almost every Tier One rugby country on the planet and will play twice as many matches per year as what it had been playing in the years since Rugby World Cup 2007. Before entering The Rugby Championship in which Los Pumas will face Australia, New Zealand and South Africa both home and away Argentina is to host Italy for a one off test match before hosting France for two test matches. The location for these matches is yet to be confirmed as is the location of Argentina´s home matches in the new expanded Tri Nations.

It has been indicated by members of the UAR and SANZAR that two of the three matches that Argentina will play at home will be in Buenos Aires with the third rumoured to be hosted by Rosario. Further to these rumours are that La Plata will host both South Africa and New Zealand with Rosario hosting Argentina´s final home match, vs the Wallabies. Talks have also pointed to Buenos Aires as likely hosting one of the two test vs France with the two other being played inland - potentially in two of the likes of Córdoba, Mendoza, Santa Fé and Tucumán.

Following the completion of The Rugby Championship in early October Argentina´s international players will return to club duty in Europe before returning for international duty one month latter with Argentina to begin its three test European tour in Wales against the this years World Cup semi-finalist. Argentina will then take on France one week latter and end its tour with a match vs Ireland. The location for all these matches is yet to be confirmed.

Great stuff, this is the kind of schedule Argentina should have had for years. Argentina could pull some wins out of these especially in their home games.

This is all part of Argentina winning the world cup. That's right, you heard it hear first.

wallabies play them on the gold coast why not Brisbane?

Because the ARU´s leader is a business not a rugbyman. Brisbane could be packed but its easier selling the game to the Gold Coast in the name of expansion. He, John O´Neill, thinks Wallabies vs Los Pumas won´t pack Suncorp Stadium so prefers to take the game to a smaller stadium that doesn´t get much or any test rugby. For the same reason Australia vs Scotland in June will be played at Newcastle. The ARU are utilizing rugby league strongholds thinking about trying to capture and convert locals in these cities to support rugby rather than league.

Having Gold Coast host the match is a good idea but the same guy has no idea or interest in creating any Australian domestic league and cancelled what was created after one season as soon as he got his job back. He moans about France, Wales, etc sending weakend teams to play in June because it means Australia makes less money. He never mentions the fact that a test match is not what it should be he just goes on about the material losses. Its why Australia won´t play Samoa again for a long time despite losing to them this year.
