Ashes defended in 1 off game

Discussion in 'Super League / Northern Hemisphere' started by St Helens RLFC, Sep 8, 2009.

  1. It was confirmed last week that the Ashes is going to be defended in the one off game as England take on Australia during the Four Nations at the DW Stadium in Wigan. Whilst I'm all for the Ashes being defended, as it is now 6 years since it was last, I think to do it as a one off is a very bad idea. The idea of three test matches is one of the most alluring things about international RL.

    Thoughts?

Do we win the cricket Ashes as part of the deal?

  4. No, they are staying in England until at least December 2010!

Think this idea has been scrapped now.

The Ashes should be a three game series between GREAT BRITAIN and Australia only.

The idea was scrapped by the Aussies as soon as it was mentioned. Idiotic, short-sighted proposal. Either that or a shameful attempt at regaining the Ashes.

  7. You lot agreed to it and it was us who changed our minds!
