It seems that Auckland NPC coach Wayne Pivac, is on the move to Welsh club Scarlets. New Zealand website Stuff reports that he will miss this years NPC to take up an assistant coach's position with the Welsh club ... I remember when Graham Henry first went to Wales, there was a lot of angry in New Zealand, and comments about how he'd never coach the All Blacks etc, but now it's viewed as career development - almost an apprenticeship of sorts, when coaches go offshore.

... Anyway, here's the article http://www.stuff.co.nz/sport/rugby/provincial/10025802/Wayne-Pivac-quits-as-Auckland-coach-for-Wales

Wayne Pivac has resigned as coach of Auckland to take up a new position in Wales.
Pivac, who has been in charge of the Auckland NPC team for the past two seasons, become assistant coach at the Llanelli Scarlets.
He will be succeeded by his current assistant Paul Feeney.
Auckland Rugby CEO Andy Dalton said the Union was sad to see Pivac leave.
“Wayne has been a great contributor to Auckland Rugby and has made significant improvements to our team throughout the time he’s been with us.
“But we recognise his aspirations and understand his desire to take on this new challenge. We wish him every success in Wales.â€
Pivac will leave Auckland in the coming weeks and take up his position at the Scarlets in June.
Feeney will take the reins for the ITM Cup after serving as Pivac’s assistant for two seasons.
“Paul has an impressive rugby résumé and has worked extensively with both the ITM Cup squad and a large number of the up and coming players in the Auckland Rugby Academy," Dalton said.
“We are delighted that he will step up into this role and are confident that we have, in Paul, one of the most talented coaches in the country.â

The Blues should have got him

Wayne Pivac had a great record with Auckland, winning the NPC in 1999, 2002 and 2003 as well as the ranfurly shield. He left in 2004 to coach Fiji. In 2011 Auckland had one of their worst teams, Pivac rejoined Auckland in 2012 and took that Auckland team to the final and semi final in 2013.
