I thought Cook would have won it.
 
Dunno if thats all that fair, he struggled a little last summer but was quality in Australia.
 
Personally I think Trott deserves the award. Both Cook and Trott have had similarly outstanding test records over the last year, but what gives Trott the edge in my opinion is that he's also been Englands' best ODI batsman as well (while Cook hasn't played ODI's).

Admittedly I'm slightly biased towards Trott, as I can still recall the outstanding season he had when he came and played for Otago 4-5 years ago (05-06 season?). He not only lead the Otago batting averages, but almost lead the bowling averages as well (which possibly doesn't say too much about the Otago team!).
 
I'd go more for Trott myself, he could actually be close to International Cricketer of the Year.
