Good, running the country into the ground for too long, don't see what people saw in him in the first place.

Let the reforms across Europe begin.

Thoughts?

Well, Italy has always been a country under the influence of corruption. Berlusconi knew how to win votes and if he would have lived 80 years ago, he would be classified in the same category as Hitler, Stalin and Mussolini.

It's a good thing that he's gone now, but this doesn't mean everything will be alright now.

We haven't heard the last of Berlusconi. I reckon he will resurface as an Italian Adult Movie director under the pseudonym "Naughtius Maxiumus"

Gonna miss him, he was the key ingredient to some of the funniest news paper articles over the last million years (or however long he's been around for). Shame about the corruption, bur that's what happens when you give people a vote, they pick dopes like him to run a country.

It was hardly democracy with him in charge, he owned over 60% of the media! Glad that he's gone. Guess we'll have to rely on Boris Johnson and Prince Philip for our political laughs now though:p

Delve into SA politics, enough political laughs in a term to last a life-time.

Well, it's not like Berlusconi raped a girl after which in court he used showering as an excuse for not using a condom ;)

So who's replacing him? Oh yeah, an unelected banker. Same in Greece. Rest of Europe to follow, including the UK.

Ordinary people to get screwed even harder.

It's not communism, it's not fascism - but it's an -ism designed to steal your wealth.

100% agree.

But the biggest problem of Italy, are the italians.

You can go around the country asking people if they had voted Berlusconi before and 70% would answer you "No!" with a disgusting expression on their faces.

With his broadcasting co., his newspapers, and his men in key industries, institutions and tv programs, he changed deeply this country in 20 years!
He changed it more than 2 World wars.

60% of italians are no more able to build thoughts of their own, they just... see. Watch. Homo sapiens sapiens is no long the dominant specie in our country, homo videns is!

Interesting take from an economist who spotted the financial disaster from the beginning: Berlusconi handled government pretty well, arresting the galloping nonsense built up by semi-communist governments since the war. Italy should have quit the euro, but now it's totally farked ... and so is the rest of the world.

2012 will go down in infamy. But here's a joke: Sign outside Berlusconi's going-away jacuzzi party - "We're all in it together!" Works on so many levels.
