For Australia

Lote Tuqiri - for speed
Quade Cooper - Can't get over his step hahaha
Drew Mitchell - Kicking for touch
Matt Gitaeu - Scrum Half
Berrik Barnes - Playmaker
Rodney Blake - Need somone who can win you the ball
Adam Freir - I dunno how sevens actually work so i presumed you would need a hooker??????

hahahahahaha I am sure everybody else could do much better so please post your team up so i can get an idea on how 7s work hahaha

Magnus Lund - for running around being a fast forward with good hands
James Haskell - ditto
Tom Croft - ditto

Harry Ellis - a scrum half with a bit of speed
Cipriani - speedy, creative fly half
James Simpson-Daniel - quick, great step, great hands and creative
Tom Varndell - quickest European player, the obligatory flying winger.

I'm assuming you mean the best 7's team consisting of current union players? If so, this is a quick team I made from the NZ 15's ranks;

Playmaking abilities;
Nick Evans

Speed merchants;
Joe Rockocoko
Sitiveni Sivivatu
Sosene Anesi

Big guys with pace;
Nick Williams
Mose Tuiali'i

Quick guy who breaks tackles and can pass;
Ma'a Nonu

Sorry for my rather rather vague player descriptions.

Here's mine

(for France, obviously)

Nyanga
Dusautoir/Ouedraogo

Michalak

Heymans
Malzieu
Saubade
Clerc

He probably is the quickest european player, doesnt mean he`s any good though.

For Samoa..

1. Ofisa Treviranus
2. Census Johnston
3. Alafoti Fa'asilva
4. Simaika Mikaele
5. Mikaele Pesamino
6. Uale Mai
7. Lolo Lui

Englands best 7s lineup;

Danny Care - Needs no explanation
Matthew Tait - God awful XV player, but had prooven his ability time and time again in the 7 man game
Shane Geherety - Fastet outhalf in the country with the best all-around game. Perfect to open play like 7s offer.
Chris Ashton - THE REAL FASTEST PLAYER IN EUROPE. Has the added bonus of a brilliant vision, being a defensive wall and a sidestep up there with the best in the business.
Nick Abendanon - Repeatedly shown his worth on the sevens circuit and one hell of a runner with the ball in hand. Only downfall would be his nerve under a high ball.
JSD - Some things in this world do not need an explanation. JSD in this team is one of them.
Andy Vilk ( c ) - Sevens specialist and captain of the England side for a reason. A strong runner, good passer & solid defender.

Chris Ashton - THE REAL FASTEST PLAYER IN EUROPE. Has the added bonus of a brilliant vision, being a defensive wall and a sidestep up there with the best in the business.[/b]

Even walls tackle using their arms. The guy is an undoubted talent, but has an awful lot of work to do defensively. Particularly before next season when he will actually come up against some decent attacking wingers.

Hmm.

Shane Williams - would love to see him play one game of sevens.
Mike Phillps - strength and speed
Tom James - was awesome last season in the 7's.
Morgan Stoddard - he is an attacking god at the moment (pitty the rest of his game isn't quite up to scratch)
Ben Lewis - big and pacey young 7 for the O's
Mark Jones - for the length of the field pace.
Daniel Biggar - very young f/h with all the skills.

May need another foreward, though Phillips, Lewis and Tom James would be suffice in sevens. Martyn Williams would still be good, the ultimate link man!

You have some next opinions...

Matthew Tait a godawful 15s player?.... Chris Ashton? Well you had to pick a Saints player but they ain't even in the premiership... got to be playing at a high level you kno... Anyway evidence is needed to see whether he's the fastest player in Europe. Varndell's got stats plus stacks of tries this season.

Differemce there is... I've seen both players, you havn't.

Think about the stats; Ashton has scored nigh-on 40 tries this season. In ANY league, that's impressive. He's also scored a bucket load in Super League and is/was an RL international. The fact he plays for Northampton has nothing to do with it - I could have named John Brake, Chris Mayor or Ben Foden if I was being like that. Or are you one of these people that think Payne was more impressive for the Saxons then Hartley?

Varndell on the other hand is quick, but can't pass, can't catch, can't kick and can't tackle. The only reason he's ever been selected for anything is because he plays for Leicester... Had he been atany other club one of the 4 holy scribed on the holy grail (*RFU laws of selection circa 1983) he would have been over-looked as an average nobody with decent pace but nothing more. *coughjustlikeHoutoncough*

And for Tait... If he's so wonderful at the 15 man game, why has he never gone into contact without conceding a turnover???

*coughjustlikeHoutoncough*[/b]

Have you seen Haughton play recently? He's developed into far more than just a 7's specialist. Wouldn't be at all surprised to see his name being mentioned in the same breath as an England jersey at some point.

Rodney Blake, one of the largest props going around at 125-130kg, keeping up with everyone else?....I think not.

For Ireland:

David Wallace-so quick around the pitch

Denis Leamy-Winning the ball and big ball carrier

Jerry Flannery-great player, ball carrier and puts in big hits resulting in turnovers

Tomas O' Leary-need to have someone to act as scrum half sometime and is lightning quick

ROG-playmaker

Gordon D'Arcy-quick, strong runner, great defender

BOD-Some may claim he has lost it (jurys still out) but for the time being I have to go with O'Driscoll

Replacements:

Donnacha Ryan-need a forward, picked him over Quinlan because he's younger and quicker and there's no such thing as a good Leinster forward :p , he will be a star

Keith Earls-he will be a star, trust me!!

Geordan Murphy-ideally suited to 7s I would think

I'll do the same thing Wairarapa_Cullen did and pick my team from the players in the XVs squad that played in the last RWC in France last year, coz lets be honest here....this is Fiji where you can just about pick anyone from the village/school/touch rugby team and they'd still be a star.

My 7s team would be:

Forwards:

Akapusi Qera - Gloucester No.7

Semisi Naevo - Fiji No.6

Iferemi Rawaqa - Fiji lockforward

Backs:

Jone Daunivucu - Fiji halfback

Waisea Luveniyali - Fiji No.10

Kameli Ratuvou - Saracens winger

Filimoni Delasau - Clermont winger

Reserves:

Sisa Koyamaibole - Fiji No.8

Seru Rabeni - Leicester centre

Sireli Bobo - winger

Interesting to note that from all this players, only Akapusi Qera & Waisea Luveniyal have never represented Fiji in 7s.

Naevo, Rawaqa, Daunivucu, Delasau & Bobo were all part of the Fiji team that won the 7s WC in 2005.

Haha, Ronan O'Gara would get destroyed in Seven's, it wouldn't even be fair.
