I find pubs are great for some nights out but they don't stay open late enough. There comes a stage in a night when you've had enough to drink but want to stay out, and dancing seems like the best option. CLubs are good for this. I personally hate normal nightclubs - where you have to wear a shirt, pay £5 for a bottle of **** beer and listen to godawful chart music like mozletoff and journey all night. However, there are ones that play proper music - as in stuff actually worth dancing to. These clubs tend not to snob around on dress codes. They don't attract rich arabs and daddy's boys just looking to buy their way into the pants of a generic blonde with a fake tan. The first of these that I've been to is Fabric, in Faringdon, London. It holds over 1500 people across 3 rooms. Friday nights is fabriclive, which attracts the biggest names in drum n bass, dubstep, and other urban music genres. I've seen just about anyone big in dnb there, along with Dizzee Rascal, Newham Generals, Foreign Beggars, DJ Premier, Plastic Little, Sway, etc. But drums is where its at - to my mind there is no better genre to get you jumping around than dnb, especially played from the fantastic soundsystem at Fabric where the bass vibrates through the floor and into your body. No one cares if drinks are expensive (LDN prices anyway) because you're either drunk before or get up on something else. Another excellent one - Matter, Greenwich, London, is absolutely awesome. It's located in the Millennium Dome and was designed to fit over 2500 people, so it's huge. There's 3 floors, all focussed around the main stage, which has the best soundsystem I've ever heard. The other floors have good areas to chill out away from the dancefloor too, plus there's a massive second dancefloor off in another room to the side. It was set up by the owners of Fabric, making it inevitably good, and if you go there on a night with a tight lineup - it's always going to be SICK. Privelige in Ibiza is amazing too. It's the biggest club in the world; everyone there is in an amazing party mood because its Ibiza; there's a great garden/ seating area outside as well. Plus I saw Tiesto there. Absolutely awesome. Amnesia in Ibiza is another incredible club - its size, the light and video shows, and the fact that there's dancers who pop up everywhere not wearing many clothes. Completely different to normal clubs. Hidden in Vauxhall, London. It hosts a night called Planet Angel every few months which has to be the trippiest night out in London.
