Just seen Biarritz have sacked Jack Isaac and Serge Milhas as coaches.

As with all things Biarritz, this is a strange one as they have not been sacked but given a break so that Rodrigues, he of the failed recruitment and manager of the playing side including failed coaches, and Roure, the current trainer to the Espoirs and Academy, are to take control until 6th January 2013.

It is probable that some good will come out of it due to purely a change in personnel but, so long as Rodrigues is there and the club is managed and financed as it is, it will be a dead cat bounce!!

What this is intended to achieve, no one knows other than Blanco. One can only hope that he is in discussion with a hard man like Mitchell at Sale (Robiinson?) who will stand up to him and take real control over all aspects of the club..................well, we can all dream!!

You dont understand Tony!!!! Sergio does not want to buy them Christmas presents so he sends them down till the 6th Jan then their first job back will be to take down the Xmas tree, that is if Serge has not cancelled Xmas in BO this year !!!! Mitchell has only just signed a contract with Sale but Robbo is free not the best of choices, you only have to go to the pole emploi Channel + rugby specialists and there are plenty of choices!!! Galthie not available either !!!!

You can bloody laugh!!!

As you well know, I have been moaning about the set up, talent and will to play at Agullera for nigh on five years now and would really like to see something to happen for the good.......this time, I am not alone!!

There are many, many voices now beginning to swamp the previous blind loyalty of the BO fans who idolise (rightly) Blanco and his accolytes whom they credit for bringing ("some") success to the club on the odd occasion but cannot see the need for the right foundations of moneyed sponsors, academy players with good training together with judicious recruitment to give good coaches something to properly work with in the medium, short and long term!! How many decent players have we turned out from the academy only to see them blossom elsewhere yet be badly treated here when they are brought into the main squad?

Cannot see John/Jack (he cannot even decide what he wants to be called) Isaacs returning from Aus (where no doubt he will be spending this Xmas) to take down the Xmas decorations here and, if it keeps him there, I will volunteer to take them down!!!

Robinson was not a serious propsition and I agree he is not the right man but there is player power to be broken, which I believe means getting rid of one or two of the senior players, before any new strong minded coach is going to get anywhere........Gonzales who was a good scrum coach found that out and is now back on his farm!!

Glad you got all that off your chest before the festivities start, at least you can now enjoy Christmas with an open and clear mind have a good one !!!!

I haven't been following the Top14 season but with the injuries they have I think the 7th spot on the table isn't that bad.

Thats true but 7th spot in the Top 14 gets you nothing no H Cup just COUPE A LA STIFFS WITH THE MAGNERS BOYS.

Gaston is right.......plus we just avoided relegation last year, are slipping down the league again this year, do not have one player who should be selected as an International (Yach maybe if he were fit), the backs and their reserves) have little to no attack capability, their game plans (if they stuck with them) and organisation is appalling and there are far too many mistakes in every match and young talent mishandled when they get into the first squad to give this ardent supporter any real hope of making that magical 6th qualifiying spot although relegation should not be an issue..................this season!!

Didier Faugeron has been tipped as the caretaker manager of BO...he temporarily took over from Elissalde after he was sacked by Bayonne last year....Faugeron when asked by Sud Oeust told them he is in discussions but not sure whence it will lead?

Biarritz have sacked a few coaches these last four years or so, and it hasn't seemed to make much difference.

I think others need to take a look at themselves, Blanco and Rodriguez don't get sacked, but by all accounts they are head duo at the club and get the final say on decisions.

There are glaring problems at Biarritz which have been apparent for years and nothing has been done, for example it has been obvious that Biarritz struggle without Yachvili so why haven't they signed a decent back up. Also why have they never signed a decent fly half? Berquist seems to be living up to the injury prone player that his record suggested he was. It is obvious for years that Peyrelongue isn't a fly half for a side wanting to compete in the Heineken Cup yet still nobody is signed to replace him.

Whoever is making these questionable signings at Biarritz need to look at themselves. They have done little to address problem areas, and to be honest I actually think the signings they made last summer weakened the squad as to who they were replacing. So it with their squad, it was always unlikely they were going improve much.

Whilst agree with most all of what you say there are a few points I would comment on

1. Only Jacque Delmas(of the sleaked hair and who now figures often on Canal Plus) who took over for a short time as head coach from Lagisquet, has been sacked in last five years. Gonzales resigned after players threatened strike and Lagisquet resigned due to stress first time and then to join up with France on his unfortunate return.

2. Blanco - hard to sack him as he owns the majority stake (I believe) and is worshipped here!! When mentioned his liability to be too loyal to his empolyees, I was told he is like that also in his other businesses. A fault but an honourable one. As for Rodrigues, he offered to resign last season and was urged to stay on. However, that all being said you are absolutely right and they do need a new CEO and a Director of Rugby!

3. Fly Half..........oh so correct and have missed out on a number of them in the hope that they could get Barraque to step up but, in my opinon, he is one of the young players who has been failed and believe he will need a new club and management to bring back his confidence to the talent he showed as an Under 20 International.

4. Only Watremez to MHL from the outgoing players was a loss and Brew, Dubarry, Synaeghl and Blaauw have been reasonable this season so do not necessarily agree that recruitment, although certainly not a great improvement, greatly weakened a rather poor squad!! Rodrigues would appear to be in charge of recruitment although Blanco must have a big say........I believe that they should get rid of no less than 8 of the current squad for either their inadequacies or their attitude!

The squad certainly wasn't strengthened from last season though. Losing Marconnet and replacing him with Ben Broster shows that. Carizza is also better than Dubarry. Whilst the funds spent on Brew should have been spent on other positions in the squad.

Biarritz needed to strengthen to move forward from last year and none of those names you mentioned are anything more than average club players at best.

Marconnet was one season too long and it is that that is so markedly wrong, not knowing when to move players on and hope it turns out alright! It is the same now with Perylongue, August and Traille.

They have ONLY recruited average club players (bar Ngwenya) at best and some a lot wosre (Baby, Burouto and the Fijian he replaced, Erinle, Broster etc) since 2004 when they recuited the cabal of Imanol, Traille and August......we need three new centres, a wing, two fly halves (presuming Barraque will go to Toulouse as rumoured), a new full back with Balshaw amd DHP in reserve, two new second rows, another hooker and at least two props!!!

I think we are in total agreement that a complete overhaul is required for a once great club that is slipping inexorably downhill!!

Edit....actually Brew is having a pretty good season here and I have no problem with his signing but maybe I am being oneyed and comparative!!

Gaston reporting that Ugo Mola of Brive is being muted as favourite for the job............Do not know too much about him but he was in charge of Brive who went down last season and still is while they are resting in a lowly 6th place in Pro2.

I wonder if this is a good recommendation for a very tough job? Hope this is not more jobs for mates because Brive and BO have a reasonably good relationship..............?

Bad news from BO, Blanco said after the win over Connacht

"I consult, I see, I meet. I will take time, and anyway,
I will not take a decision until Monday night at the earliest"
I am comfortable and not at all bothered, and if necessary, Laurent Rodriguez and Mathieu Rourre can take a team of fighters to Stade France"

Faugeron is due to make a decision on Monday and Benoit Lecouls or Benoit August are being tipped to become forward coaches......alll those named here are present or former BO players......continuation of the cult?!!

Looks like Faugeron for the backs and Laurent Rodriguez is staying as forwards coach that is what all the French TV and Rugby sites are stating at the moment but that could always change, maybe Serge is going to put his boots back on!!! will need to losse a bit of weight first!!!

Confirmed on website now.......Faugeron appointed coach until June 2014 and will take the backs himself (good luck with that) and Rodrigues the forwards until they find a replacement for him for the 2013/14 season when he will revert to the position he has already failed in as Director of Rugby!!

Feel that all that is happened is that they have got rid of Isaacs, correctly, and Milhas who has had little over a season and half with no input into recruitment, unfairly!

No change there then!!
