Brüssow added to Bok squad for Castle Tri-Nations
August 07, 2011
Looseforward Heinrich Brüssow was on Sunday confirmed as an addition to the Springbok squad for the home leg of the Castle Tri-Nations series.
Brüssow made a successful comeback from a hamstring injury in an Absa Currie Cup match on Saturday and assembled with the other 24 players in Durban on Sunday.

Well, that at least is one of the glaring holes in this squad plugged if you consider Smith, Burger and Alberts are on their way back as well. So the starting XV probably

1 Guthro Steenkamp - he seriously needs the time as he was out for soooooo long. hope he is 100% now
2 Bismarck du Plessis / Smit? - Smit scored 2 tries on the tour which is probably the worst news we could have had LOL
3 Jannie du Plessis - hope him and Bakkies focus on the game and not get side tracked as they easily do
4 Bakkies Botha
5 Victor Matfield
6 Heinrich Brussow - Whoop, one of the puzzle pieces falls into place. Now to just stay fit for more than 2 weeks...
7 Jean Deysel / Danie Rossouw
8 Pierre Spies / Danie Rossouw
9 Fourie du Preez - !!! :D
10 Butch James - personally I would have liked to see what Lambie could do behind a 1st choice pack and FdP on his inside but
11 Francois Hougaard / Gio Aplon / Bryan Habana- would be great if either FH or GA could start but its probably gonna be Habana
12 Jean de Villiers / Juan de Jongh
13 Jaque Fourie
14 JP Pietersen
15 Frans Steyn / Gio Aplon

I hope Deysel gets another start. He was the only one from the new guys that could stand the pressure and played good enough

How did Brussow play at the weekend? Good news for S.A.

He played well, came on around the 55th minute. I counted 3 turnovers from him, 1 in particular was vital and helped the Free State to win.

Good news :D

Good to see Brussow back ... could be an interesting match up against Pocock, if he gets selected to play against Australia.

... Congrats to the South African medical staff for managing to get so many of the injured players back to match fitness, at just the right time too ;)

Brussow was instrumental in the Free State closing out the game. He looks big in the upperbody. Much bigger than he was; kinda Pocock-ish. Hope that helps as he was very effective with the low centre of gravity.
