What the hell is going on?!! Suspending them and getting the Prime Minister involved!!
What a joke.

Apart from the credit crisis, it clear that there's not much news about.

Although (keeping slightly on topic) if they were going to be sacked for making an un-funny joke, it would have been years ago.

I can take or leave Ross, but Brand is a c**t. I would be delighted if I never had to hear him again, he's about as funny as cancer.

I would love to see the the horse-faced fag bint (amy winehouse) and the tw@t-faced c*ck dribble (Russell Brand) just disappear in their sleep.

This was really out of order as well as incredibly stupid. Essentially, there is an invisible line out there. A line which we all know and keep to rigorously.

That line is the line between sharing a cheeky or naughty or downright wrong joke or line of jokes with your mates down the pub or at dinner or whatever and sharing those same jokes with over several million people listening in to your radio show.

They crossed that line and thus they should be punished for their stupidity.

I totally back the sacking of these two morons, Jonathan Ross has been on the decline for many years, he is not funny and he never will be, Russell Brand is an absolute c**k who needs to know the difference between Right and Wrong, this is the guy who phoned the police claiming to be a rapist on his stand up gig, things like this aren't funny... I don't think there would of been a big reaction as there has been if the show live, but because the show has been recorded and edited, and still this was played on the air...

I don't like my Licence Fee going to these bunch of K**b Jockey's, the bbc pay them both far too much money, and one of them can't speak proper anyways, and the other should get a haircut... Bloody hippy!!!

I say lets give more air time to Stephen Fry!!!

Personally - and i mean this with the most sincerity - I couldn't give a ****. Somebody elses squabbles invading my life again.
I can't get away from the radio in work, so this is the "news" i'm left to listen to?
FFS.

It's times like these that i truly miss America...

It was beyond the line of decency, but the granddaughter has no right to moan at all. She's a stripper for christ's sake. Andrew Sachs is being made out as this lovely old grandpa who's innocent sweet granddaughter is having her name sullied. Fact is, Brand probably did f*** her.

It's like that twat Muslim extremist cleric, whose daughter is a poledancer (and was only too happy to go in the Sun when daddy got in the news...)

A country where talk radio is prevalent and you simply can't escape from an opinion from a Radio or Television personality being stuffed down your throat? Hallelujah! The UK's turning American!

2 things..

- The girl is clearly just after publicity, anyone who sleeps with someone like Brand is not doing it for anything but money, notoriety and publicity.
- Mr Sachs has nothing to do with this, apart from that Brand and Ross thought it'd be funny to bait/humiliate him with the exploits of the girl.

I don't feel sorry for Ross, Brand or the girl. They can all get to ****. I feel sorry for Sachs, who has just been taunted and baited for absolutely no reason. But not that sorry that i actually care. Or is that wrong?

Well this isn't going the way I had anticipated when starting this thread...
I think they're great, Brand in particular, and the phone calls are absolutely hilarious.
I appreciate that Sachs is a veteran actor who does deserve a great deal more respect than what Brand and Ross doled out to him; but for someone who's granddaughter performs violent and lurid burlesque with the troup 'Satanic Sluts' I would have thought he would have a much more liberal view on her social life, and her protestations are little more than appalling shots at fame and media attention.
It's all ********.

I think Brand should be Burched.

Not because of what's gone on, just because he's a pillock.

What the hell are you on about?
Tune into an average radio station in america and then you'll hear how radio is so much more about the music...

Actually, i can't even be arsed to argue as you clearly don't know what you're talking about.

He's left the BBC now. All you boring ******** have got your sodding way.[/b]

What they did was not Comedy... What they did was cause harassment, they played a "Prank" Call on to a fellow celebrity making crude and intimidating comments, if they had done it once then fine, but they carried on doing it, bating another human being, in some respects you could class it as bullying.

If you look at the guys past he is an absolute moron, who looks to cause controversy just to get in the papers.

- He lost one of his first jobs, hosting MTV Select, when he turned up for work the day after the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks on America dressed as Osama bin Laden.

- The following year, he was sacked from radio station XFM for reading pornographic material on air during a Sunday afternoon show.

- Brand fell out with Rod Stewart at the GQ Man of the Year awards after claiming he had slept with Stewart's daughter Kimberly. He subsequently admitted the claim was false after Stewart confronted him on stage.

- In July, during a stand-up performance in Northampton, the 33-year-old made a hoax call to local police. During the call, Brand claimed he had spotted a man responsible for a series of assaults in the area. He later apologised and Northamptonshire Police decided not to bring charges.

- In September when he presented the MTV Video Music Awards and described US president George Bush as a "that retarded cowboy fella". He added: "It was nice of you to let him have a go, because, in England, he wouldn't be trusted with a pair of scissors." Brand also criticised US pop group The Jonas Brothers for wearing purity rings symbolising their virginity

The guy is a drugged up loser who has somehow managed to get on TV and make a name for himself, probably slept with the right people... He should not be allowed near TV and his career should be ended as soon as possible...

Don't give me that, I've heard my fair share of radio in the States and I've enjoyed hour long lectures by Americans East and West about how awful, backwards, trashy and over commercialized their radio system is. Working as staff for an American station tends to turn you off the entire system. One of the biggest reason why sites like Last.fm and the plethora of online radio stations are growing at such a rapid rate is precisely because they're sick and tired of how traditional radio neither represents what they as a listener is nor provides what they want in a day. And guess what? Ours isn't that amazing either. In fact, its awful. Just saying that the west tends to have some awful Radio stations and we're all guilty of either making it a reality or letting those who did get away with it.

Listen, if you don't like Russell Brand or if you don't like BBC Radio 2,3,4,5,6 or even the archives on 7 guess then what? You don't have to listen to them, theres a thing called internet radio which has far better choice of music or DJ to which you can have a much better relationship with. So with that in mind, why not put that lil' flame thrower away, listen to some soma.fm and calm down hm? :p
