Briggs inks new deal at Sale

Sale have announced that hooker Neil Briggs has extended his career at Edgeley Park by signing up until 2012.

On Briggs, it's odd that he's only signed a 12month contract - all other re-signs have been 2-3 years, wonder if he's considering leaving, or if Diamond isn't convinced of him

I haven't heard of any clubs who are interested in him yet though,

although judging by departures from other teams, Wasps maybe? to replace van Gisbergen?

it's a shame to see Sale falling away, there needs to be at least one good northern team

Could head back down south for the ITM, if he doesn't find a club up here - Though I imagine someone would pick up him up over the summer at somepoint (though I imagine there's already interest enough to cause him to delay so long on signing a renewal)
