Canada v Ireland - Saturday May 23

While the majority of regular Irish players will be either playing their hearts out in Murrayfield, on Lions duty or resting up after a tough but very successful season, some new faces, in fact 5 new faces get a chance to shine, with 5 more on the bench. From Canada's point of view, seeing as it is a sanctioned IRB test match they have a fantastic opportunity to shoot up the world rankings should they come away with a victory.

Quick note, residents of the Island of Ireland can watch this live on RTE 2 or via the RTE website as far as I know.

Looking forward to seeing Keatley working his magic at an international level even though it isn't gonna be all that intense. Would havr preffered to see Ross, Reddan and Ryan or Caldwell starting. ahead of Micko,, Buckley and Stringer. Looking forward to Whitten and Cave.

Looking at the number of Cornish Pirates players I'm totes not worried about the Canada team.

Bob Casey vs Jamie Cudmore for a ***le match against O'Connell?

Ah I see you beat me to the punch with the Irish team, sorry man.

Casey is only just older than POC and DOC, and could yet be an involved in match day squads for the first team, but I see no point in Micko being there, other than him being in much better form than Caldwell/Ryan.

Keatley should get a good chance to show us what he can do behind a (hopefully) dominant pack and with Stringers passing too.

POC will take all challengers, except for Buckley, did you see him last Friday! Let's hope there won't be too many scrums though.

No Jamie Cudmore :( Was looking forward to round 2, with Leamy, Buckley or Donnacha Ryan (Cudmore's choice) taking POC's place :D

Ian Keatley will be looiking to impress today to try show that Sexton isn't the only possible suitor to Rog.

I don't get why Fionn Carr isn't in this squad. Seemed a far more sensible option that bringing only one wing.

Actually in hysterics from Irelands Call. And Nugent taking the **** out of DJ Anthem!!! Quality!

cANNNOT BELIEVE THEY'RE GETTING CAPS FOR THIS FARCE.[/b]

Caps lock....painfull.

Yeah, Buckley is some scary mofo to have running at you.

I'm enjoying this regardless.

what's the score? the beeb says it's only 7 - 6 to Ireland and it kicked off an hour and a quarter ago.

What a steamin' bucket of dog ****. One of the worst matches I've seen in agood while. Can't really blame anyone ( except that anthem what the f***?) with one week to prepare.
