[QUOTE="LittleGuy, post: 529445, member: 44360"] It was a farily good campaign for the Wolverines in 2012 with the squad definately growing in their bid to move up the world rankings and qualify for the 2017 RLWC. The RAF tour to Canada was the first part of the season and the RAF opened up with a big win over a Toronto club side which was followed by a very competitive tilt with Canada "A", the Canadians holding the RAF scorless in the 2nd half although they fell short 22-16. The test schedule began with whats becoming a great(although friendly) rivalry with Jamaica, the crowd was 4.630 which is a North American record for Rugby League. The fans saw a hard fought defensive battle in which the Wolverines came out on top 18-12. This was followed by a big win 36-18 over Lebanon, one of Canada's most important wins yet over a side that possessed some NRL prospects. Unfortunately the 2-0 record didn't last as a thrilling comeback against the USA fell just short, 28-24 was the final score. It was an absolutely fantastic night of Rugby League with both sides scoring some fantastic tries. The USA also took the rematch in the United States, which was played on a Gridiron field, fairly bizarre to watch and the Tomahwaks were clearly superior on the day winning 36-14. The Wolverines ended the test schedule with a 2-2 record. A fairly disastrous performance against the England Lions(Best Amateur players from England) followed especially the first half, and the Wolverines were spanked 68-4. All in all it wasn't a bad year though, Canada showed it was competitive with other minnows and they earned themselves a grant from the RLIF for further development due to the crowd sizes and performances in their tests.
