:D Ummmn ...*A-Hem* ... we actually call them just "The Crusaders" now, and not "The Canterbury Crusaders", so that us fans from the other unions that make up the franchise, such as Tasman (Nelson and Marlborough unions), Buller, West Coast, Mid Canterbury, and South Canterbury, don't get offended :p

... hehe, anyway, on behalf of all us Crusaders fans, thanks for starting the thread :)

I Just heard on NZ's Radio sport that the Crusaders won the match against the Highlanders 40 -21,and can confirm this here:

Looks like a few tries were scored, and that most players came through unscathed, with only Crusaders winger Zac Guilford in doubt for the season opener against the Blues, with a sore hamstring.

Wasn't it Canterbury Crusaders, Waikato Chiefs, Wellington Hurricanes, Auckland Blues? What happened to that? ;)

Hehe ... and the Otago Highlanders ... but as theses franchises are made up/represented by a number of ITM cup, Lochore Cup, and Meads cup sides, the province name was dropped from all of the names a few years ago. :)

Here's a more detailed report on the pre-season match against the Highlanders

Good to see Fruean has continued his outstanding form. Here's hoping Guildford recovers and can get back in the All Blacks frame.
