Chelsea - great performance and result
Arsenal - not great but got the result
Man U - lucky ******** sneaked a point
L'Pool - V. Impressive, Garcia, Gerrard & Alonso all v.good.

R. Mad - glad to seem 'em get thumped in the CL again

Kiev should take all 3 points from Roma game. Roma fans are almost bad as Besiktas.

Great start for Liverpool, I'm made up with their showing this evening. £30 was a lot of money to pay for a ticket but with a performance like that it was money well spent.

Kiev have been awarded a 3-0 forfeit win over Roma after UEFA's disciplinary committee met today. Roma's remaining champions league group games will be played at an empty stadio olimpico. Good decision imo.

Surprised at Arsenal dropping the 2 points against Rosenborg, nothing surprising about Chelsea well they did concede 1, gutting for Celtic conceding 2 late goals after dragging themselves back into the match. Christ Rooney looked impressive last night though, hopefully better teams than Fenerbache will expose them defensively.

Rooney was obscenely amazing. Shame Man U are out of the Premiership race already unless they have an incredible winning streak and Arsenal + CFC lose a few. Champions league is obviously a possibilty.

Chelsea had a poor first half but good second to beat Porto "Weve got gour manager" FC. John Terry's header was brilliant.

Arsenal look like a different side in the CL

Liverpool were never favourites vs Olympiakos without Gerrard.

all in all, looking good for English teams.

We can cope without Gerrard. It was just a **** poor performance all round that cost us dearly - we need to pick up our away form or we'll be nowhere.

Rooney is well out of Owen's league. He is already a much better player than Owen ever was.

What a stupid statement. Rooney has still got some proving to do yet. Scoring a hat trick (as excellent as it was) against Fenerbache is all well and good. When he does it week in and week out in the Premiership like Owen used to then he can talk and we can compare.

Comparisons can be made in terms of their first tournaments, Owen 2 goals in 2 games at France 98, Rooney 4 in 4 at Euro 2004 so it's fairly even in that comparison, although it's only my opinion but Rooney is far superiour to Owen.

Rooney is better than Owen, now and in the probably in the future. Rooney will have a better record than Owen when their careers are over.

We'll see.

People go off the road. Rooney has an awful, awful lot to prove before he can claim to be better than Owen.

but owen scored in a world cup against teams like Argentina ...rooney scored against a team like switzerland...so i think u can't do a comparison now either.

Owen didn't exactly set the world alight at Euro 2000 or Euro 2004. Correct me if I'm wrong but I don't think Michael Owen has a champions league hat-trick to his name either.

I seem to remember Owen having a lot of very long dry goal-less spells in the Premiership, and now he can't get on the pitch for Real Madrid.

Impressive

Who DOESN'T have a long dry spell in the Premiership?

The country's new golden boy has only scored 7 goals in a total of 48 Premiership apperances!
