God we've missed the express pace of Wood that was a hell of a spell before he got his rewards.

Rather regardless of the reasons I'd rather we didn't boo a guy on his 100th test especially as he is one of the all time greats and probably the best batter of this generation.

Stokes is again missing a trick. Should've continued with Woods. Straight in at Smith. I agree with the commentators. Wood is fantastic to watch.

EDIT: Well, that makes up for it. Smith gone.

Possibly but as pointed out in Sky both Wood/Archer have been bowled into the ground in the past and been injured as a result. So I understand the caution especially if you want him for second spell before lunch. I'd have given him one more over though.

4 wickets in the session with their three top batsman in the hutch. England fans can't really complain.

Australia are going to win this ashes comfortably. England are not up to task.
They have the wrong coach. Gary Kirsten was a far better choice.

Gone from 1 win in 14 matches to 11 in 15 with pretty much the same squad. I think you have insanely high requirements to what a coach is actually capable of.

Good bowling effort yesterday, better so far by the Aussies today. There are some good articles around about the stresses on fast bowlers and it’s just a shame that neither Wood nor Archer have been to string matches together.

The Aussies are a good team and Stokes first test day one declaration is looking increasingly reckless in the context of the series. It helped hand them momentum that they didn’t need a second invitation to take.

Difference between the teams this match has been Marsh's innings Wood, Ali and Woakes have tried to kick on but failed. That's been pretty much the story of this series so far we're loosing by fine margins one of their players just do enough to better one of ours. Still only 66 behind as I write this.

Crawley does my nut in. Once again a good start, once again a stupid shot. Top order muppetry given the match situation.

Honestly, there’s time - don’t take risks, just take the runs when they’re there and bore the pants of the Aussie bowlers. That’s all we need to do. Ones and twos are fine.

Crawley is the most infuriating batter in the world looks great for about 30runs and gets out. I would say we are throwing this one away but feels like most are being unlucky than stupidity. Just a bit soft.

I've said it before but it's kinda frustrating how often Root goes missing in these situations.

Got there in the end! Three excellent close test matches hopefully will continue into the next two tests. Really hoping we win at Old Trafford this series so far deserves to go to a 1 match showdown.

Really happy England won to keep the Ashes alive. Bring on Old Trafford. Wokes and Wood were great in this test.
