I want the every member on this forum to post their best ever XV from their nation

but from players who have played for their country since 2000, and to avoid the Cullen/Muliaina cusp of the decade vs 4/5 of the decade debate, just select the player on their career, as long as they've played at least once for their country since 2000

for example, Tim Horan just played 1 match for Australia since 2000, but was one of the greatest centres ever, so he should be in the Australia XV, also judge other cusp players like Jeff Wilson, Massimo Giovanelli, Inga Tuigamala, André Venter on their careers not just the matches at the beginning of the century

to check whether a player has played since 2000, search on their name on this website http://search.espnscrum.com/scrum/rugby/site/search.html?search=Search

to see all players by position who've played since 2000, enter the correct filter by date and position on this website
http://stats.espnscrum.com/statsguru/rugby/stats/index.html?class=1;filter=advanced;type=player

post for as many nations as possible

I'll start off with my Wales XV from players who've played for Wales since 2000

I presume you mean that they ave played for their country since 2000 (eg Zinzan Brooke played for Harlequins from 1997-2001).

1. Tony Woodcock
2. Kevin Mealamu
3. Carl Hayman
4. Ali Williams
5. Chris Jack
6. Jerry Collins
7. Richie McCaw
8. Kieren Read
9. Justin Marshall
10. Daniel Carter
11. Jonah Lomu
12. Tana Umaga
13. Conrad Smith
14. Joe Rokocoko
15. Christian Cullen

Put Rokocoko in over Howlett, but I suspect many would pick differently.

For me, for England, I wouldn't look far past the '03 squad:

1. Jason Leonard
2. Steve Thompson
3. Phil Vickery
4. Martin Johnson
5. Simon Shaw (? - Hardest position to pick)
6. Richard Hill
7. Neil Back
8. Lawrence Dallaglio
9. Matt Dawson
10. Johnny Wilkinson
11. Ben Cohen
12. Will Greenwood
13. Mike Tindall (begrudgingly)
14. Josh Lewsey
15. Jason Robinson

Australia:
1. Dan Crowley
2. Phil Kearns
3. Andrew Blades
4. John Eales
5. Nathan Sharpe
6. Owen Finegan
7. George Smith
8. Toutai Kefu

9. George Gregan
10. Quade Cooper

11. Digby Ioane
12. Matt Giteau
13. Dan Herbert
14. Ben Tune
15. Chris Latham

16. Brendan Cannon
17. Al Baxter
18. Dan Vickerman
19. David Pocock
20. Will Genia
21. Elton Flatley
22. Lote Tuqiri (when he was at his best)

For South Africa:

1. Os Du Randt
2. John Smit
3. BJ Botha
4. Bakkies Botha
5. Victor Matfield
6. Heinrich Brussouw
7. Schalk Burger
8. Pierre Spies
9. Fourie Du Preez
10. Morne Steyn
11. Bryan Habana (even though he's now no longer a bull)
12. Jean De Villiers
13. Jaque Fourie
14. JP Pietersen
15. Frans Steyn.

What's nice about this squad, apart from Os Du Randt, they are all again available to play in this year's World Cup...

I know, but neither is a 13, one would be playing out of position and be less effective than normal,
Greenwood/Tindall worked well, so I'll stick with that

1 Os du Randt
2 John Smit
3 Cobus Visagie
4 Bakkies Botha
5 Victor Matfield
6 Schalk Burger
7 Juan Smith
8 Andre Venter
9 Fourie du Preez
10 Morne Steyn
11 Brian Habana
12 Jean de Villiers
13 Jaque Fourie
14 Breyton Paulse
15 Percy Montgomery

Thats an insane pack with everyone on top form!! Morne Steyn is the only one I feel that drops the level in the backline but if he could play at his 2009 form that'd be remedied. Paulse at his best was a good player though a poor man's Shane Williams. Maybe I should put Terblanche, Pietersen, Rossouw or Van der Westhuizen there....

I tried to avoid picking guys out of position so tough luck to especially Joost van der Westhuizen who I was very keen to put at 14. Also a bit unlucky; Bismarck du Plessis, Faan Rautenbach, Mark Andrews, actually, quite a number of players though we've been a bit understocked at 10 since Joel Stransky and Henry Honiball.

I'm pretty much with Olyy, couple of changes though...

1. Jason Leonard
2. Steve Thompson
3. Phil Vickery
4. Martin Johnson
5. Courtney Lawes (Based of ability, not the chances he's had)
6. Richard Hill
7. Neil Back
8. Lawrence Dallaglio

9. Matt Dawson (Tempted by Gomarsall though...)
10. Johnny Wilkinson
11. James Simpson-Daniel (honourable mentions to Lugar, Cohen and Balshaw)
12. Mike Catt
13. Will Greenwood (Because I prefer Greenwood out of position to Tindall)
14. Jason Robinson
15. Josh Lewsey

Ugh, these threads come along every 3 months or so. Bleh.

8. Zin Zan Brooke
9. Justin Marshall
10. Dan Carter

Wales

Nice idea P.duck.

For Wales I´d suggest it is as follows:

15. Lee Byrne
14. Tom Shanklin
13. Gareth Thomas
12. Iesten Harris
11. Shane Williams
10. James Hook
9. Rob Howley

1. Duncan Jones
2. Matthew Rees
3. Adam Jones
4. Ian Gough
5. Alun-Wyn Jones
6. Ryan Jones
7. Colin Charvis
8. Scott Quinnell

Before anyone asks... I don´t rate Martyn Williams and always prefered Wales with Charvis ala RWC 2003.

Tom Shanklin is the best 14 for Wales....?

02 Matthew Rees
03 Adam Jones
04 Ian Gough/Brent Cockbain
05 Alun Wyn Jones
06 Ryan Jones/Colin Charvis
07 Martyn Williams
08 Michael Owen/Ryan Jones

09 Dwayne Peel
10 James Hook
11 Shane Williams
12 Gavin Henson
13 Tom Shanklin
14 Mark Jones
15 Lee Byrne

I was aiming for players who have played most of their career in the 2000's, not just a year or two.
