England v South Africa - 16/11/2024 (17.40)

I'm conflicted. If England hadn't beaten Ireland in the 6N the knives would be out for Borthwick (if they already aren't). On one hand they've had a run of just falling the wrong side of a number of results they coulda shoulda won, but Borthwick's attitude just ****** me off, something behind the scenes is off, and trolls supporters with some selections.

Can I be the first to congratulate South Africa on your record win at twickenham…

If you could be good sports and have 6 of your players sent off in the first 20 mins to make it a little more fairer…

Reckon the Boks will have a right crack at our line out. They've got 3 guys taller, a couple quite a bit taller, than anyone we've got.

Itoje's usually fairly athletic, but CCS and Martin are both heavy guys who are not exactly salmonesque. They're going to have to fight for our own ball and Itoje's going to be marked as our go to guy. Hard to see us really threatening their ball.

As we've seen countless times, malfunctioning set pieces are costly.

Let's see, they'll target our scrum, target our line out, target our defence...

Target our 15 with fast paced wingers..

I suppose we can hope for an act of god?

Have saffas ever played in deep snow?

So Ben Curry is the flavour of the month.

When he does get a couple of games starting watch him be mediocre and then have people calling for the next flavour of the month...
I mean he played really well in his only appearance this series, what more can you ask of him?

Let's keep playing players who are either out of form or never looked up to much in this set up instead - surely it'll work this time!

Ben Curry is a good player but he's hardly some world beater. We're stacked at backrow. I don't see Ben Curry being much of a difference maker compared to the other options that have been selected to be honest.

So you think Dombrandt is the best option?

Rassie sees the Scotland scrum as more of a threat than England's. Which is pretty hilarious considering Scotland brought on Elliot Millar Mills who isn't a first choice prop at Saints.
Mumble mumble not even the best player in his family mumble.

Don't get SB's take on Underhill at all. There's a big part of me that would love him to marmalise every Springbok in sight in a career defining MoM performance and then announce he's off to France for the dosh.

"Well Steve it's a bit of a combination of not picking me recently, omitting me from the RWC squad and not getting a central contract. Comprendez?".

Those selections read as if Rassie got a leak of Steve's picks, picking steward against that back 3 is going to be interesting. I just fail to see the logic in dombrandt, not super young, not allowed to play of smith, although that doesnt matter as smith isnt allowed to play like smith. Dan Cole on the bench just feels a waste, been dominated in the scrum two weeks now and offers nothing other than that, might as well get a youngster to get experience… amongst other issues.

Plus, if playing this style, back to World Cup struggle ball, why even start smith, just go with ford.

Haven't are turn over stats been **** poor this series? As for a ruck defence that's another issue. We might be stacked in the back row but other than CCS . The back row has not been great.

Felt like Aus really adapted to our "defence" and coupled with an early exit for Curry our breakdown was screwed. We didn't even slow much ball, so no way we were turning it over.
NZ more or less had our number in the summer and we've regressed a fair bit since that series. So similar outcome last week really

I'm not sure we're quite as great as we like to think. But gotta say that I'm looking forward to seeing Underhill and CCS in tandem.

The international game is so much more physical that the club game isn't necessarily the best guide. There are some more rounded players than Pearson in a club shirt, but I look at his build and power and think he's got more potential to succeed internationally.

Dombrandt's kind of a case in point. SB wasted a bullet by not picking T Willis.
