Step onto the pitch and play professional football your way in EA SPORTS FIFA 09. Experience the most authentic football simulation EA SPORTS has delivered on the PSP system as you live the fantasy of playing as a professional football player.

Powered by an overhauled animation system and all-new collision system—representing the biggest innovations to the game engine in four years—FIFA 09 delivers more responsive, intelligent and realistic physical action.

Hundreds of new animation sequences and a new collision detection system with 360 degree coverage enable players to behave according to their physical attributes. Player speed, direction and strength now determine everything from the severity of the collision to the outcome of possession. Plus, contact occurs with shoulders, arms and legs. Stronger players possess the strength to knock down smaller players or use their body and arms to shield the ball in challenges.

Changes to the animation system reward the skillful gamer during one-on-one situations between attackers and defenders. Tuned acceleration attributes enable swifter players to possess quicker first steps and gain advantage in sprints. Plus, four new skill moves -- scoop turns, rainbow flicks, heel-to-heel knocks and ball rolls – give you a total of 32 tricks in your arsenal to perform just like Ronaldinho.

From the moment you step onto the pitch, FIFA 09 challenges you to think and react like a real football player through the popular feature innovation Be A Pro -- now expanded to multiple seasons and featuring the unique Be A Pro camera that tracks your player, re-creating the excitement and rush of racing in on goal. In Be A Pro: Seasons you choose a professional player and then develop his skills at a single outfield position. Complete individual challenges to develop your player attributes and win glory for the squad.

Enjoy top football action at your own level of ability with new Smart Play controls. Passionate football fans new to gaming can play like a professional, controlling only the shooting and passing using a two-button control system and gradually mastering all of the controls as they become adept. With new smart play controls and an assist from the AI, gamers can learn at their own pace and still play entertaining matches with more advanced players

Expected to be released in October somewhere(in South Africa) and after reading all the the features and stuff I'm defnitly gonna get myself a copy for my pc and ps2 :D

Any of you guys that are also gonna get yourself a copy?

I went off football along time ago. If Madden09 goes to pc then i won't but since that is not happening :( i will probably most likely get fifa09.

Looking forward to it.

OT: Man, I hope they are working on a new next gen Cricket game, the game is starting to get huge now thanks to 20/20 and I'm keen as to see how they approach the game on the new consoles.

I remember Sambad suggesting that this is what they need for EA Rugby...it is something similar to what JLR has. Real collision dynamics as opposed to motion capture.

a new collision detection system with 360 degree coverage [/b]
Hopefully it will be like EA Rugby is now with 360 turning rather than that 8 direction crap they have.

Plus, four new skill moves -- scoop turns, rainbow flicks, heel-to-heel knocks and ball rolls â€" give you a total of 32 tricks in your arsenal to perform just like Ronaldinho.

Hopefully these tricks are more responsive than they are in 08.

Skillful players have the ability to fake the first touch before the ball reaches the pass receiver[/b]
. Hopefully this is responsive though as you can see they are saying "Skilled players"

Enhanced Shooting Mechanics - Ball-striking enhancements create more responsive and more accurate first-time shots[/b]
. As long as it isn't too easy to score.

Custom Formations â€" Design your own unique strategy to create the perfect formation and tactics. Set each player's exact position in the formation, and assign specific attacking and defensive runs.

Unfortunately this probab;y won't be the case for online matches.

Well there goes PES chances for a license of PES 09.

it sounds like fifa will be a good game by want they are saying

i havent played fiifa for a few years now until they brought in the a league witch was a huge selling point for me being from austalia

In my opinion..Pro Evolution Soccer (PES) is much better rather than FIFA series...no offense though... :)

I'll def be getting it.

FIFA lately has been a game I get each year, since '05 anyway.

in my opinion from having played PES from the ISS days i can honestly say the gameplay which was all ways the key and difference to konami's game has gone down hill since the introduction of Pes2008,its way too arcadey and resembles the old fifa games. The tables are starting to turn if konami doesn't wake up fifa has got this in the old onion bag.

Yeah, definitely getting this years one. Liked last years and this one looks way better.

It does look impressive.

However, financial constraints are likely to make be choose between one or the other this year I suspect.

i use to get 00,01,02,03 for the pc and 04 for the ps2 until i went out of sport games for a period of time. ill get this game because there is no madden 09 for pc this year.

The last thing they ever describe leading into release is the state of the online play. It was pretty terribly implemented on the ps3, when '08 first came out. Here's hoping they've sorted their stuff out this time.

If FIFA 08 was bad online on the PS3 CA, I dread to think how bad PES was. So buggy online, very poorly done.

FIFA 09 will be amazing, after coping with the slow speed of 08, 09 will be amazing!
