Football Board

Why does the football board redirect us to a different forum? One that looks pretty inactive too.

Forum is a lot quieter these days and I reckon if we had a football board to talk about on here that would get more posts and discussion.

The Football Focus is a message board that I own. I wanted a football version of TRF, but I've not had any backing from members with it since I set it up, sadly.

So why dont we just set up a football board here on TRF and we can talk football here?

No, TFF is a TRF project. We can talk about football on there or not at all. It's the only way I can get people to join.

Well there is a 'Other Sports' section which will cater for that.[/b]

well if you post anything football related it's liable to get closed and you'll be redirected to TFF.

TFF has killed off a part of the forum that was quite lively and for the most part had decent discussion but I think it's foolish to expect members on a rugby forum to go elsewhere and post about something that may only be a passing interest if nothing is happening on the rugby front. It's blatant sensorship in my opinion.

So why have cricket or other sports or an off topic section then?

Because we haven't tried to expand in those areas.

Yes I agree with you that it has killed an active forum, but there was enough interest at the time in football to expand to another forum, but this forum hasn't taken off, which was a risk we took. There is a big plan of what Dan and I would of liked to explore, by creating a group of forums with different topics.

And to call it Blatant censorship is idiotic... Its basic business, you look to improve your stakes in different areas, and look to expand.

There wasn't though, it was slightly more active than the cricket forum and yeah it came to life during major tournaments but that wasn't enough to warrant creating a separate forum, if you're for creating a separate football forum that's fine but why should members here have to suffer the consequences?

Because members here, if they have enough interest in football, will find it no problem to take twenty five seconds of their time to register on TFF. Me and Charlie have had a total lack of support in the football site and I am extremely disappointed by this. I took out a two year domain and I will not allow football talk of any sort on TRF until that domain is up.

If you want to talk about football, join TFF. It is NOT difficult.

I did join but nobody posts there so I'm not going to bother. My point is though you come to this forum to post about things, you don't want to then be sent to some ghost town of a forum to have to post on separate things, it simply doesn't work.

It's a ghost town because the members haven't got behind me and tried to bring the forum to life. I am actually deeply offended that nobody has made the effort to get TFF taking off. Building a forum is a slow process but not as slow as TFF is. The only members I get posting are Viagra ads. Very sad.

However, I took out 2 years and if that means it not getting another post until the domain name expires then so be it.

So Dan what date did you start the 2 year domain for TFF?

But why should members have to go to the effort of remembering another forum site and consistently go it regularly on a day to day basis like they do on TRF, when they just want to stay on TRF? A lot of members here are probably members of a few forums anyway.

simple if we wanted a generic sports forum, we would of created a generic sports forum, this is primarily a rugby forum, with other bits. The idea of the Football Focus Forum, was to take out some of the other bits and create a forum primarily for Football with other bits...

Why lock my topic just because it's about football?

I can't get into football focus using my username and password; meaning I would have to start a new account, which I can't be bothered to do, and I don't want other people to have to do just to reply to my topic, which they may not see because it's on a completely different forum anyway.

If I'd wanted to post this in a football forum; I would've gone to one.

There's a section for other sports; it's hardly overflowing with talk distracting people from rugby. Football is another sport.

This strikes me as stupid, to say the least.

And if I'd wanted to constantly see a 12 retard *****ing and moaning, I could have gone to an appropriate forum for that sort of thing.

Luckily however you're here, so I can get my daily fix of winging and whining whenever you post.

I wanted to create a TRF empire. I intended to have a successful network. TRF, the rugby board, which is already a success, then TFF, which I had high hopes for but has been undermined by a lack of effort. It takes 25 seconds to register. Enough spambots do it, I don't see why you can't do it. Everyone has been so supportive with TRF, I would have hoped the support would continue over into this idea, and then onto a cricket board, but there's about five people who have made an effort. Me, Charlie, Mite, my Mrs and my housemate.

The domain name expires in July I believe. And believe you and me - TFF will remain open until the last day. Domain names aren't free, I've paid for it from my own pocket. It will stay open for business until the bitter end, even if only to break the number of spambots registering record.

i did have a question, why couldnt you add the members from this site to TFF? couldnt you just update the members and passwords and throw them onto the other board? wouldnt be that hard would it? i dunno :)

Yeah i think TFF is a bit of a crock give it up Dan create a sub-forum in the general sport forum. I like the old football forum and TFF has killed what was a very good forum.
