  1. Franklin's dream run continues in England

James Franklin's summer continues to bloom after he achieved his career-best bowling figures today.

Franklin, who is playing for the Gloucestershire county side in the English county championship, took seven for 60 in its match against Lancashire. Earlier, during New Zealand's tour of England, when he was called in as a replacement player he achieved his career-best figures in one-day internationals with a five-wicket bag.

His contribution to the Gloucestershire effort didn't end there either. Struggling in pursuit of Lancashire's 375, Franklin was required to perform a stablising effort in the middle-order and he batted 200 minutes for 34 runs as Gloucestershire struggle their way to 186 for six at stumps on the second day, still 209 runs behind.

Andre Adams also made his mark for Essex in their match against Leicestershire when scoring the fastest century of the summer to date. His 100, his maiden first-class century, was scored off only 80 balls. He went on to score 124 off 91 balls and his innings included seven sixes and 13 fours. While at the wicket, he scored 124 runs of 198 posted as Essex recovered from 108 for seven.

Then as Leicestershire were dismissed for 197, Adams took two wickets for 41 from 12 overs. By stumps, Essex were batting again at 85 for one, a lead of 210 runs.
