I think the XBox main issue is lack of "original" IP marquee games (that are actually good).

What am I (if I were buying an XBox) buying one for?

I use "original" because I'd include GoW but thats more a reboot than a change.

Sony has including times exclusives,

GoW
Ghost of Series
Final Fantasy Remakes
Astro Bot
Stellar Blade
TLOU
Marvel's Spider-Man
FF16

Those are some pretty heavy hitters XBox has had what Bethesda's latest bugged out piece of rubbish?
They seem to step on every rake possible including the ones locked safely away. They were building something great with the 360, but then they just shut all the good down with kinect, dropping pretty much every big game they had and then the xbox one mess. Whatever good IP they had, they fumbled or ignored too.

Banjo Kazooie, Kameo, Project Dark, Conker, Viva Pinata, Halo, Gears, Fable, the list goes on. They've tried to fix this by buying loads of studios etc, but they're screwing that up.

I know someone who worked on "Fable IV" she worked on Horizon 1&2 for Guerilla got head hunted and has already left to go work for Housemarque because she hated it. Which for a game not released for another year give you a tiny slither into how well thats going.

I'm concerned that game is going to be more witcher than fable of old. I don't want a 200+ hour padded mess. I'd rather have the more focused approach like the old ones. I'm not sure if it's due to the environment, structure or size, but xbox don't seem capable of running studios at all. Everything is either bogged down or lost.

NEW DAWN OF WAR ANNOUNCED THIS IS NOT A DRILL
Got the definitive edition of the original. Please just make DoW 4 like DoW 1 but much larger scale... It would be nice to really get the very different playstyles that a larger scale should enable. Marines etc can keep their smaller squads but give me proper Tyranid and Ork swarms or vast fortification turtle creeping as the Imperial Guard pleeease.

Under no circumstances front flipping Angelos in terminator armour.

It looked like they've gone back to the first games, although hard to tell from about 30 seconds of gameplay.

They mention the last stand mode returning (which tbh I loved and wish they expanded on), which to me signals it's likely going to be more DoW 2 scale but I can hope. Ah yeah seen the gameplay trailer. DoW 2 size it is then.

But £60-70 when it comes out.
Unfortunately game prices need to go up with inflation especially when AAA costs so much to develop and they have to deal with every flop as well.
I just wish the people at the top weren't creaming the profits at the expense of massive layoffs below them.

DoW4 remains to be seen I liked DoW1 and DoW2 despite being very diffrent styles of RTS.

Anyway my next months of purchases are Metal Gear Solid Delta (which sadly looks more like an extremely good remaster than remake), Ghost of Yotei and Bloodlines 2

My mainline Final Fantasy playthrough will have to go on hold.

I hope the menuing has been streamlined in Delta, it was my least favourite aspect of Snake Eater
Yup by MGS4 the auto-camoflage system was great. Loading times really made it suffer on MGS3

That said I was at Uni when MGS3 came out, I imported it from Canada (back then it came out in Europe almost 6 months later!). I got it about midday and played through solid to like 5am the next day. The girls in my house had gone out clubbing that night so I was going to play until they came home and they didn't to 6am....

Totally get that but remember when they were £40, then £50. Charging £70 for a game? That’s 40% over £50 and that’s not all inflation. They are hiding price increases within that and pocketing it. Hence why I am happy to get second hand games pubes and all. 😆

Agreed.

The Megadrive SFII release was £60 in about 1994. Mad price at the time.
