A couple of places are saying Silksong is harder than Hollow Knight, which is kind of disappointing as I got really frustrated on the last third of HK and sacked off most of the DLC because it was likely to result in my first controller launched at a wall in decades.

EA bought into private equity partly by the Saudi Investment Fund. Yay that'll be good for gaming.

"The consortium of buyers include Saudi Arabia's Public Investment Fund (PIF), Silver Lake and Jared Kushner's Affinity Partners."

Ah that lovely bit of nepotism set up when Trump was in office. Given the article says they borrowed heavily for the purchase, this could backfire spectacularly if EA slumps.

This is a buyout because all they have left are Yank sports licences. They're all but defunct as a developer. They'll go to the wall in 3 or 4 years and good ******* riddance.

yeah, i have a real love hate thing with hallow knight....first time i played only got maybe a quarter of the way into the game and ended up at the bottom of a "well" and the only way out was through 4-5 sections that needed perfect timing at every step, no safe spots.....gave up...second time o got further...but was just so hard!......

Yeah I think I'm on the same page as you. It's a gorgeous game - the art, the systems, the music all suck me right in, but some areas/bosses are just so frustrating, and I've platted every soulsbourne game so I'm not exactly adverse to getting screwed over with some BS.

I'm probably just **** at platformers these days.

yeah, the hole i ended up felt like it needed a +20 perfectly timed button combo across multipe screens to get somewhere safe....would have been very rewarding if id managed it....i just kept failing

Never been a huge GTA fan but I'd rather a 6 months delay to anything and it be ready than another Cyberpunk 2077 (which is brilliant now its been patched)

Played Alan Wake 2 its utterly superb and one of the few games with massive tonal shifts at times that feel completely deserved.

WTF is this article smoking?
PS2 to PS3 6 years
PS3 to PS4 7 years
PS4 to PS5 7 years
X360 to XOne 8 years
XOne to Series X/S 7 years

And development cycles have increased massively in 25 years....
Games are larger most campaigns for narrative games use to 10-30 hours now they approach 100.
