Great move for the guy if it's true.

He's been one of the best forwards in SL for a few seasons and he'll only get better in the NRL.

  5. He's not good enough to play in Aus - he's English.

Top stuff. We've needed another elite English forward in the NRL since Morley's retirement. We need a bit of a change...a new they say, a change is as good as a holiday.

He could sit on the bench for reserve grade I suppose.

Lol, he's a beast. Look at the Kiwi's that are supposed stars in the NRL.... Gareth Ellis is king amongst those chumps.
  8. I'm taking the **** - he's class. But in the arrogant eyes of the NRL, he won't be good enough because of his nationality. I would love to see him smash the Aussie pack about.

I find that to be more of the case in back backs, rather than the forwards. Look at how revered Adrian Morley was.

The problems is that not enough high quality English players make their way over (ie. players in the national squad)! It would be great to see more of those such as Morley, Carney and Ellis, but the big problem is money as well. They'll make far more at the moment in the ESL than they'll make in the NRL.
  10. And this is what I don't get about the NRL - Adrian Morley is one of the most overrated players we've ever produced but yet he is revered in Aus! It's absolutely bananas!

Its because we like a mongrel ********...and thats exactly what he was. Always doing shoulder charges and more importantly to his character, high shots!!!
  12. He's a thug. There are tough players who aren't thugs. Ellis is one of them, actually.

Hmmm...yeah...I'm looking forward to seeing Ellis play. Heres hoping he doesn't get injured and plays out the whole season to his full potential. Tigers for the semis!!!
