Getofmeland's Review of Rugby World Cup 2011

Mybest world league team in rugby 05...

9 stringer
10 Carter
11 Ohata
12 Bod
13Jason robinson
14 Caucau
15 NAWALIII!!!!

Crete is awesome.

opened up pandoras box there :D

I have to say, I broke about 3 controllers due to nawalis complete inability to tackle.

Did anyone else ever feel the guilt when you bought your first new player, like you were cheating on your team...

I have a feeling we've seen the last of those guys! We could always build a team of nearest equivalents e.g.

heffler = andy goode
Nawali = ???

..I know what you mean, always used to keep nawali and heffler on the bench and give them a run out now and again.

BUT

I've got a feeling we havnt seen the last of heffler ;)

..HB's chief financial officer happens to be called 'Craig Heffler'!!!!

According to the facebook page Scotland are fully licensed, new screens up!

HB STUDIOS CONVERT SRU LICENSE

HB STUDIOS HOLD EXCLUSIVE SRU LICENCE FOR OFFICIAL RUGBY WORLD CUP 2011 VIDEOGAME

Milton Keynes, UK – [XX, July 2011] – Further to the announcement of the forthcoming release of Rugby World Cup 2011 on 26th August, international publisher 505 Games and developer HB studios have today announced the games exclusive partnership with the Scottish Rugby Union (SRU). The official licensing agreement grants the exclusive use of the Rugby World Cup 2011 Scottish team strip, emblem, and the Home of Scottish Rugby, Murrayfield Stadium, within the game. With further licensing deals to be announced in due course, Rugby World Cup 2011 will be the authentic rugby gaming experience this summer.

Rugby World Cup 2011 is the official game of Rugby World Cup 2011 in New Zealand and HB studios and 505 Games have been granted the exclusive rights for the tournament's official game by Rugby World Cup Limited. "From a developer perspective, working with an official license always opens doors on the way to creating a more immersive gaming experience," commented Alastair Jarvis, General Manager at HB studios. "At HB, we feel uniquely placed when it comes to rugby game development, and tying up a deal such as this only makes our dream of creating the definitive, authentic rugby ***le achievable."

The first rugby ***le on this generation of consoles, Rugby World Cup 2011 will feature the Home of Scottish Rugby, Murrayfield Stadium, as one of its many showpiece stadia. The game also includes HD presentation detail extending to the inclusion of thigh tape, wrist tape, finger tape and scrum caps.

Rugby World Cup 2011 will challenge players to pick from the 20 Rugby World Cup 2011 participating teams and attempt to lead their team through the pool phase, and progress to the final with the opportunity to lift the prestigious Webb Ellis Cup. National rivalries, venues and player personalities are perfectly captured as participants will fight for the pride of their nation in either solo play or with up to three other players in local multiplayer matches. For the first time, HB Studios will give players the chance to fight for the glory of their country online by challenging other players to one-on-one matches on Xbox LIVE® online entertainment network and PlayStation®Network." As with any sports ***le, we feel authenticity is key with Rugby World Cup 2011, and with that in mind, the involvement of the SRU was an essential element of this ***le," commented Ian Howe, President, 505 Games "With further partnerships yet to be announced, we're confident rugby fans from around the world will be impressed with the level of detail within the game."

Scottish Rugby's head of commercial, Nathan Bombrys said: "With 20 teams lined up to compete in this year's Rugby World Cup and fans from around the world preparing for the event, the tournament is promising to be an amazing spectacle. Adding an official video game to the many ways fans can get involved in the event and support their home nation feels like a natural synergy and we are delighted to be a part of the game and to help make it as authentic as possible. The game also features the Scotland squad wearing the brand new 2011 Rugby World Cup playing kit, which was just launched last week. Rugby World Cup 2011 from 505 Games will give fans the chance to play rugby before, during and long after the Webb-Ellis Cup has been won."

Rugby World Cup 2011 will be available for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation®3 computer entertainment system on August 26th 2011. For more information, please visit the official website at www.rwc2011game.com

Ah who cares about the jocks...they are rubbish anyway :p

Now come on Ireland/Aviva stadium! It will be tinged with slight sadness that if RWC has IRFU I assume it means Sidhe wont have munster..gotta take the rough with the smooth I guess..

hmm, not sure about the sounds of those rucks. i know they're saying its not a button bash, but who wants to be rapidly pressing buttons everytime the breakdown comes about. I know they say its a balancing act, but to be fair, why not just have it that you can win a ruck most of the time, unless the player is isolated, like in real rugby, which means there'll be no support and its a turn-over. i hope they get this right, or else it could be very annoying trying to constantly rapidly be pressing buttons everytime theres a tackle.

RWC can have the national licences but Rugby Challenge can have the league licences eg. RWC has England, RC has Aviva premiership.. Would just mean that RC will need to get a licence with Celtic Rugby etc.

Yeeah but I'm not sure its so easy with IRFU. RC doesnt have SA super 14 teams because its centrally controlled by SARU. I'm pretty sure IRFU has the same deal with the provinces, RFU and premier rugby are totally separate in England which allows that split.

As simple rule of thumb:
"Clubs" (E.G. Premiership & French top flight sides) are completely independent bodies with their own rights and licenses. Meaning that a Premiership or Top 14 license may not feature Leicester or Toulouse if wither club decided they did or didn't want their brand used, regardless of anything signed by the unions and/or league organisers. A good example of this is Wasps appearing in Rugby 05, but the remainder of English clubs being generic similies.

"Regions" or "Franchises" (so the S14 and Celtic league sides) are owned by the unions so are bound to whatever they decide, regardless of what the underling directors want or object, including licensing agreements. If the union agrees a concession however, that opens up the possibility of cross-selling the brand.

I see what you've put bullitt and I am aware this isnt the most trustworthy souce (a french website selling the game) but according to them sidhe have the magners league (so pro 12 now) also :/ Either way we'll see soon hopefully if it does or not :/
