Are Gilbert balls used in all major competitions? Is there no other Rugby ball company?
How about Rugby League? I think that the balls of Rugby Union and Rugby League should be same.

Not necessarily. Gilbert just happened to sponsor RWC with their product(s) and they're not the only company that include but may not be limited to rugby balls. There's Canterbury, Mitre, Rhino, Kooga, and a lot more smaller companies tho Gilbert is probably one of the best (along with Canterbury) because they're hand-stitched.
But I don't know about Rugby League though...

I almost forgot that the internet is filled with jerks... a polite way of saying it

Australia used to use summit balls. I have one to kick around with. Although Gilbert has been the official supplier for the Rugby World Cup, so in 03 Gilbert RWC balls were used in Australia and 2011 RWC Gilbert balls were used in NZ even thought hey normally use Adidas.
