Firm offers for Gleeson

SOUTH Sydney and Gold Coast are poised to make firm offers for England centre Martin Gleeson.

England may have dipped out of the World Cup last weekend but it hasn't dimmed interest in the 28-year-old, who has been granted an early release from Warrington.

"Two clubs are going to put offers to us after the weekend, which is good progress," Gleeson's agent, Andy Clarke, said last night.

"Two others want to wait a few months, which doesn't really suit us but we haven't ruled them out."

While Clarke did not name the sides involved, it's believed Melbourne and Canberra are reluctant to make a commitment.

Gleeson will play out next season with the Wolves before heading to the NRL.

"We've had talks with Andy about Martin; he's a good player but it's 2010 we're talking about," said Souths chief executive Shane Richardson.[/b]

He would like the GC lifestyle..
