graphics and gameplay

wat do you guys think on the subject of graphics and gameplay?? too many players on 08 were off the button in terms of graphics and the gameplay was impressive but lets help hb out

pretty important to make sure the players have differnt shaped bodys to each other so the locks arnt really stocky etc

Must be a distinct difference between players. Different body types is a must, as well as recognisable faces. Obviously all of this will be pointless if the gameplay is poo (which everyone has confidence in HB that it wont be poop). Gameplay is (slightly) more important than graphics. I'd rather see differences in running styles and movement between backs and forwards than likenesses, but in an ideal world (which i believe i live in).... I want both

I don't expect the game to be on FIFA level (of the above mentioned characteristics) due to budget and amount of attempts EA have had with FIFA, but i have full confidence in HB that their game will give us fans what we want

what I expect is to make the crowd and the landscape more realistic. Those 2d animations were the most annoying thing. I don't have anything else against the graphic detail from rugby 08.

And I agree with TVH11 about the importance of gameplay.

agreed, the main thing I wanna see since licencing for alot of major teams is out of the question due to the licences to them signed exclusively to rugby challenge HB should focus on graphics and gameplay as top priority. And I agree that I don't exAlso know that you at HB are great with graphics having made a fair amount of EA's sports games

ya...but do u think hb will make 2012 without nz? i doubt it..i will neva know why u have to get licensin it should be a privilage to be made in a game...they should try real hard with graphics and even harder gameplay

That can be considered a good enough point, as much faith i have in HB to create a good game i think lack of NZ licencing in a World Cup year where even the fools who like rugby because of the World Cup (because they are sick of Tennis since playing it since Wimbledon) will buy a rugby game, but not without the All Blacks in my opinion, does the licencing mean they can't refer to them as the All Blacks or that they cant have New Zealand in the game? it would be pretty hard to have a Tri Nations without them, the more i read here and the more i search around online i reckon Rugby Challenge is the game to keep an eye on, Mario is giving more information and he is active making posts every couple of days, HB said they don't have a PC version in mind at the moment so the guys here who pimped up Rugby 08 wont be able to rectify the lack of licence issue

They will have no choice but to leave out the All Blacks if Rugby Challenge has an exclusive license. They can include
a team called New Zealand and give them a black jersey. Putting in similar names is an option, but its alot safer just to
allow us to edit the names. I remember swordfish went the same way to avoid any potential legal problems.

That will suck hard if H.B cant put the All Blacks in Rugby 2012 due to HES getting license's for Sidhe's Rugby Challenge.Playing as New Zealand and Mo'a NuNu or Rickard McCowe would be so dumb and Australia with Davis Podick lol,Rockie Alsum...

I can almost guarantee that the All Blacks and the Wallabies WILL be left out due to HES having "exclusive" rights to both teams... with that being said, I'm sure that New Zealand and Australia will feature in the game.

HB really have some great building blocks with Rugby 06 and 08 (the two best rugby games around) and lets hope that Rugby 2012 is even better. Good graphics are a must! I can't take RRL seriously as it looks worse than Rugby 06! but i'm not expecting the game to look like Fifa 11 or Madden 11, but it does need to be a great leap forward from Rugby 08. Something i'd like to see alot more of would be individual player animations were props move like props and winger move like wingers, instead of just having fast and slow players...
Gameplay is a must though (especially since there there are already some big licenses missing...) At the end of the day the best games need good gameplay, so lets hope they both get it right!
