Harshest omission

With the press banging on about Flutey I must say the real annoyance for me is the absence of Charlie Sharples, the guy has been in blistering form in the premiership and for the Saxons but has only been given half a game against Wales to prove himself, yet Banahan and Cueto have started both games. He could have been a real flyer in the WC but Johnson went for erm....well Banahan and did'nt even give the lad a chance.

I'd say Simpsons-Daniel for England, Poitrenaud for France and Giteau for Australia. Giteau being the harshest of all, because he won't have the opportunity to participe to an other World Cup.

there was supposed to be a poll on this ;)

in my opinion Dwayne Peel is harsh, particularly considering a rookie in Lloyd Williams who isn't even first choice at his region is ahead of him

..
I'm glad you omitted it as it would undoubtedly be skewed towards the bigoted end, divorced from reality, with emphasis on overrating certain NH players. Matt Gitteau, half a teams worth of other Oz players, and a full teams worth for both SA, and NZ players.

even if they are lesser known to most of you at TRF, here are the harshest ommisions for the Pacific Islands
For Samoa
I would have Henry Tuilagi, but I dont know his situation as rumours are he is injured and/or retired from international rugby. Others who were very unlucky are Johnny Fa'amatuinu, Alafoti Faosiliva, Ezra Taylor, Fa'atonu Fili, James Johnston, Afa Aiono, Lua Vailoaloa, Andy Tuilagi and Fautua Otto
For Tonga
I would say Nili Latu, but according to the press He has rejoined the team after a petition sign by several hudreds of people was passed onto parliment and the move to have him removed from the side seems to be revoked. Other players unlucky to miss the cut are Pepa Koloamatangi, Pasuka Mapaikatolo, Semisi Telefoni, Mateo Malupo, Hudson Tonga'uiha and Etueni Siua.
For Fiji
Graham Dewes, Ifereimi Rawaqa, Seru Rabeni and Timoci Nagusa.

^^ I don't know most of those guys, but I agree that Henry Tuilagi must have been hard to leave out. Rabeni seemed harsh too, but when that came up on the Fiji thread, someone posted a very good reason for that (that I don't really remember), it all made sense at the time. I don't rate Nagusa, I'm sure Fiji have better wingers.

For me the harshest omissions must be Delve, Peel and Jauzion. Messam and Giteau also for the way it was done.

I feel for Martyn Williams, as ending an international career with 99 caps seems unlucky, but I don't think he deserved selection. Stringer should have made Ireland squad IMO; he has the straightest pass, ideal for high pressure games.

Riki Flutey :p ... why would England opt for the young, talented, and destructive running Tuilagi instead :D

... Seriously though, the names already mention in this thread can consider themselves very unlucky

James Johnston is an unlucky boy. Looked very good for Quins at the end of last season.

jean deysel and ashley johnson from SA are very unlucky but i understand that it must have been a tough choice and its about combinations and stuff. no idea how mr. pringle could choose odwa ndungane and leave sumone like lwazi mvovo or bjorn basson at home.

also wyatt crockett...feel for him.

Think it's more a case of why would England opt for an awful crash ball New Zealand league convert Hape instead :p think the harshest omission in the english squad is pretty much anyone who is a creative no.12...

Luke fitzgerlad, Jenno and kev McLaughlin. Absolutely ****ing disgraceful. Excuse my French but I'm so ****** off at the moment.

We don't know what happened behind the scenes with giteau but the world cup will miss his huge talent.
Also surprised with Johnny beattie, thought he would start too.
