Stade Yves du Manoir - 19/01/13 - 16.40

A massive week for Montpellier this week, everything was going so well at the start of the week then the death of Eric Bechu, Montpellier's coach, (53yrs old) after a long illness, the funeral is this afternoon, and tomorrow we play Toulon for our first ever 1/4 final H Cup place, Toulon need a win to get a 1/4 final place at home we need a win to qualify as best 2nd place......
The send off for Eric should be wonderful tomorrow, it's whether the boys can pick themselves up and do the business, as the start of the game will be very emotional for everyone concerned.....

Terrific send off and great start and try.....could MHL want it so much more do this one?

I hope it continues at this pace and skill levels.....

To be fair to Toulon, they are against a pretty strong wind....................but not taking away from MHL the determination they are showing, particularly at the break down!

Armitage's tackle no worse than Flood's but, as he is playing for a French team, he is likely to be cited and executed due to his disciplinary record!!

I think it was worse than Floods - tipped him further, dropped him down and there wasn't really a need to lift the leg in the first place.

Am getting the electric chair out of storage...................................

That is Michalak.......what was he thinking with a nothing pass to somewhere near Wilkinson......

But all power to MHL who had numbers there and took every advantage. Cannot argue but that they are worth their lead............

Worth it yeah but nearly every decision made by Toulon has been completely the wrong one.

They certainly need a leader like Lobbe. who is now on, to get them working together and using the wind but cannot see them coming back on this performance. They are getting poor ball and using it badly but Gorgodze is having a huge game and the pressure at the breakdown makes it almost impossible for Toulon to have any kind of rythm......breaking even at the scrum and line out would be a help!!

Michalak is playing terribly - directly responsible for one try, and now him rushing out of the line he left a hhuuggee gap, gifting Montpellier 50+m and a penalty.

The only team that can deny Toulon a home QF is Montpellier actually. With 23 tries for, they'e unlikely to be surpassed by Toulouse or Saracens, and they're alredy sure to be above Ulster. If they top their pool, which wouldn't be the case if MHR score twice more.

It would appear that, after today's results and accepting a MHL win, Biarritz have scraped into the Amlin quarters with a possible match against Gloucester or Bath (depending on Munster) to look forward to......HOW!!!!
