Heineken Cup P6: Sale Sharks vs Cardiff Blues - 14/10/2012

I think MoM should go to the most outstanding person i.e. one who had major impact on the game. Did not see this one but it would appear that Cipriani came on and scored one and made two tries that turned a tonkng into a narrow win....surely that is the biggest impact and therefore he was the most outstanding player and deserved the MoM.....just a thought?

It's not that important really. Cipriani did have a big impact, so I'm not overly upset that he got motm. However Halfpenny and Navidi were outstanding throughout the entire game. It was not their fault at all that the Blues lost. Halfpenny was peerless in everything he did. He often looked the most dangerous Blues player in attack, was rock solid under the high ball and provided an absolute masterclass with the boot. He would have been my mom personally. Navidi wasn't far behind. He dominated the tackle area, and more than likely topped the tackle charts. He was everywhere as always.

Ultimately what's important here is that the Blues lost a game they really shouldn't have. Doesn't really matter though, as neither of these sides are likely to make it through the pool stages. Toulon will massacre both unless Sale can play like that for the entire 80 (Blues have no chance with such a shoddy front 5).

Here is a pic of Warburtons' injured finger

I can see where you are coming from and that it would appear that 1/2penny and Felice Navidad played extremely well but neither seemed to have made quite the impact that Cipriani would have appeared to have done. I guess we agree to differ on interpretation!! Where we do agree, Toulon should walk this group and it is possible that the MHL seconds will come second with Blues and Sale somewhere in their wake....

Wonder how long Warburton will be out for.
Better wrap up Tipuric after next week. Shingler suffered an injury as well...

Astute observation from a mate about the performances of Welsh teams: Haven't felt this bad since... this time last year. I suppose the years prior as well.

I missed this match. How did the Buckley vs Filise scrum battle go?

About even. Apart from the very first scrum where the Blues looked like they got mangled (although it might have been wheeling), neither scrum was particularly on top. Sale probably edged the battle, but it didn't disrupt the Blues game.
