    Hard to say if he is even the best player in his position imo. He certainly has had a superb introduction to international rugby. Although i think Matfield and Du Preez will be nominated ahead of him for IRB player of the year. I predict Matfield to take the title this year.

    Yeah, like Rocky Elson was last month...Heinrich Brussow, as been good in the last few games, but he isn't "the best player in the world"...I can't say that a player who has started less matches then I can count on one hand has earned the right to have that title. He is flavour of the month in my opinion, though I can certainly see he has potential to be a good player.

    I'd have to say it's gotta be Matfield at the moment because he's shown great leadership as has Jon Smit over a very long period of time and there's just no substitute for that.
