Life was simple when we were kids...you had boomboxes which recieved radio signals and allowed you to record the broadcast on cassette.

Now, we've got all these fancy inventions that make life way radder, but alas, more complicated. My personal dilemna is recording live streaming audio found online.
I want to relive my mixtape making glory years of my pre-teens. How does one record streaming audio?

    Cheers!

If you are using Windows, it has a built in sound recorder, although I can never get it working half the time.

Alternatively go here, you will find a list of all programs that will record streaming audio. Some are free, some are trail software.

Windows Media Recorder or Real Media Recorder should do the trick.
