How to practice kicking through goalposts

Hello. How can I kick as if I am kicking through goalpost, without actually using goalposts. As I live in America, it's not like I can just walk to the park and kick with the rugby ball. Will football goal posts work?

go to your local soccer ground and use soccer goals...

the rugby cross bar is about 1 foot higher than the soccer cross bar

and the uprights are about 1-2 feet in from the soccer uprights.

one of my local schools has this type of soccer/rugby combination posts which will give some sort of idea, however you will need to apply some guesswork.

yeah, just use american football posts.. or my old coach would have our kicker kick from the goal line and aim at the post from the side. if you can come close to hitting a 4-inch wide post from 40 meters, getting it between 2 posts 12 feet apart should be a piece of cake... so just use a light pole..

Yeah I agree with OSU.

Just find a post, or anything at all for that matter and kick at it.

When you're kicking through posts you should be aiming to slot it over the black dot thats in the middle anyway.

You could find a nice big wide tree and aim of hit it, but have an acceptance of half a metre each side.
