source:www.nzricket.co.nz Black Caps rewrite record books in Champions Trophy win New Zealand achieved a satisfying and record-breaking opening round win in the ICC Champions Trophy when beating the United States by 210 runs at the Oval today. Spearheaded by Nathan Astle, who scored his 14th ODI century to bat through the innings and finish on 145, New Zealand reached their second-highest total in ODIs when scoring 347 for four wickets. It was an outstanding effort by the Black Caps, even against the limited opposition. The list of records included: 347 is a record score in Champions Trophy history. 145 to Nathan Astle is his highest score in ODIs and the second highest by a New Zealander. 210 is the highest winning margin by a New Zealand team.
