Not sure how big of a deal this. I guess in terms of its impact on xv's it's negligible at worst. Still, I was a tad surprised tbh. They went from the new kids in the VII's block, literally, to fighting for the top spot in no time. Their rise was astronomical.

And sure, last season was incredibly disappointing, but that happens. Dunno what to make of it.

Britain going to part time. Wonder how many countries will keep full time sevens teams?

What level would Ireland even be playing at next year? The top level is only 8 teams and I can't tell if they'd auto qualify for division 2 or not.

That was olympic qualifying wasn't it?

GB as a team only exist for the Olympics at all others times they play as their individual countries.

What i find unbelieve, is WR's reaction. Or lack thereof. If a RU like Ireland's 'decides' to do something like this there has to be something fundamentally wrong with how the entire thing is set up. At its core.
Not sure what it is, let alone how to fix it, but a decision like this one should have consequences. Again, not for IRU.

WR keeps talking about expanding the game here and there, this and that... u20s, sevens, women's rugby, olympics, yada yada... and then a team who made it 2nd last year decides to pull the plug? From a rich country? A tier one country?
Inexcusable. head's should be rolling, but that wont happen.
