Ireland v Australia - 30 November 2024

Gotta give Schmidt so much credit with this Aus team, he's superb at knowing where a team is, and playing to maximise strengths and minimise weaknesses
Agree, might not show up in the win column next year with the lions series, but I think they are looking far better going forward. He will have a far better idea on his best side after these performances, now its just about working on weaknesses to take the team to the next level.

Very good coach, maxamises what he has.

Big question now to be asked on is Kelliher a big part of dysfunctional lineout.

I think Prendergast was OK but think he needs time to grow. He is now piled with pressure

What's happened to Ireland? At least there can be more positivity that the Lion's tour will be competitive. Credit to the Aussies and Schmidt he's really turned it around.

Good second half. Work to do amd changes to make but I think we've a good platform.

Fair play to the Aussies, came and played.

Such a bottlejob at the end there, not calling the high tackle on Sua'ali'i

What a waste of an afternoon for all involved

Yep - he needs a string of games with Leinster, both URC and HEC.
Now, whether Farrell (or now Easterby I suppose) can, or should, force Leo's hand in that is another question.

Cant win a game of rugby with halves that cant exit. Same thing that did us in against Scotland.

Ref was one of the worst ive seen. First half both ways - second half Ireland got the calls IMO.

Leo shouldn't need forced. He's far better than Frawley and Ross.

I fell asleep a bit during this match tbh. Ireland is so unpredictable, sometimes they play like gods, sometimes they play like...today.
But ok, it's over now and Ireland won anyway:)

Nice to see the Ireland kit without sponsors plastered all over it, shame about the collar.

Happy enough I suppose. Attack completely lost its shape for a period in the second half.

Subs won us the game. Needed the energy change in the halfbacks. McCarthy and Kelleher desperately needed changing as well, both great players, but had stinkers today.

Thought the ref shafted us so many times. Kept warning them for slowing our ball and blowing pens the other way. Never been particularly fond of Piardi

I do not understand why you are strting jake gordon tbh.

Yes but well. History shows selections can be different
Yeah fair. Usually follows Farrell's lead though. JGP and McCarthy spring to mind.

I think Sam and Jack are playing at a very similar level with very different strengths and weaknesses. Jack probably the better bench option so arguably a bit more pressure on him to raise his game in order to own the jersey. Sam's literally a burst of acceleration away from being the man imo.

Ireland got all the calls yet again… what a surprise. Their 16th man won them another game. No wonder they've got such a good home record. Away teams in Dublin get absolutely nothing time and time again. Can't stand Ireland, the sooner they're back to being where they belong the better.
