He just turned 21, he has played 28 test matches (21 as a starter), has scored 11 tries and 138 international points. He was the second youngest Wallaby ever and is probably the youngest player to have ever scored 10 tries, youngest to reach 100 points, will be the youngest to earn 30, 50 and 100 caps.... This is a thread that will contain only irrelevant and unverifiable predictions.

What other "the youngest player to..." will he get?

When do you think he will reach 500 points? And 1000?

How many international points do you think he will score? How many caps will he earn? Which will be the number he will have worn the most on his back? Will he ever lift Bill?

I am trully impressed by how many things he has achieved at only 21, if he goes on like this, I think pretty much every international record is in danger. What do you think?

I don't think he's interested in numbers, he just want to win ***les.
If Aus can keep up this level; work on the minor errors they will be a difficult team to beat.

The youngest person to be 40. Seriously he looks like he's just about to start his GCSE's

I don't think he'll break any points scoring records, especially if Dan Carter is still playing in the 2015 World Cup, but he certainly is young enough to break some other records. With that in mind, Jonah Lomu, Joe Rokocoko and Christian Cullen were only 19 and 20 when they started playing and they scored a few more tries by the time they reached 21 (I think Rokocoko had scored about 20 tries by that time, 17 in his first season). The problem is Cullen had knee injuries and left the All Blacks at 26 years old, Lomu had kidney disease and left the All Blacks at 27 years old and Joe Rokocoko has also had a big dip in form from when he started. That's the thing, there is no way of knowing if he will be able to maintain form etc.

With that being said, with JOC playing on the wing and goal kicking, I'm sure he'll reach a very impressive tally.

I didn't have that data. It came up in the topic about Rock's move to France that he is a lot younger than what most of pleople think (he's 28), and that's because he's been around for a long long time. You are very right in that it all depends on the consistency he can reach. I just wanted to mix two things that I enjoy despite their complete lack of use: statistics and speculation.

Actually jonny wilkinson was the youngest player to reach 100 points, O'Connor was 2nd

I think you mean 12.

i reckon he will reach the most points ever scored. most players in the top ten are fly-halves so he has the benefit of playing on the wing on top of that.. in an out and out attacking australian team. if he kicks as well as he is at the moment, non-stop without injury for the wallabys, and keeps playing on the wing for many years(say 5-plus) then shifts in perhaps for five more.. then yes he will. only problem is the chances of this all falling into place.. i wouldnt bet on those odds anyway.

but as a side note i reckon he is the best player in australia by a long-shot and although i automatically despise losing to australia i dont mind losing to james o'connor.. hes my favorite player

It will all slow down soon. He doesn't seem like a long term kicking option, however i could be wrong.

His cap tally will not slow down though, he is a real chance of breaking many records in that department. Just as long as his doesn't leave to France too early in his career.

It all depends if he can stay injury free, remember Jonny Wilkinson had over 600 points when he was only 23 years old.

Yea, injuries have been creeping in. But all in all he seems super-fit and recovers from most injuries quicker than expected.

Who knows? Auz might win the Tri-Nations, win the RWC this year, and he'll say **** it, I've done the best for my country that I can, may as well be rich enough to retire at 30 and go play overseas...

He hasen't got that kind of attitude, otherwise he wouldn't have been able to play super14 at the age of 17. That requires dedication.

It is true that he likes the dollar though. Apparently the Force management gave up on the negotiation with him because of his will to manage himself as a brand and cause he was putting himself ahead of the team (from that what I get is that he was asking for too much money...)

Anyway, if he comes to Paris I'll sure pay my ticket to go see him, no matter the club he play for.

He's the youngest but not necessarily the best young player for Australia. Both Pocock and Genia are both young players too 23 years old.

It's scary the young talent Australia have. They could really make a mockery of Ireland if we're not firing on all cylinders and get some luck!!

Youngest person to win BET's Black Artist of the Year...

Oh wait, that was Justin Bieber, oh wait what? Black??
