Jaque Fourie claims O'Gara gouged him...

Sheridan should have been dealt with but nothing quite beats eye gouging does it. Oh the head coach defending it tops it all off![/b]

This has been dealt with in other threads, but this thread is mainly re-hashing some very unharmonious feelings. IF this continues down the road of baiting the South Africans, then it may have to be closed. Further the conversation more along the lines of the Fourie situation and it's merits etc.

Most other Lions supporters are focusing on the upcoming game and the South Africans were also settling down a lot in the other 2nd test thread.

You've a right to an opinion, but not to head off track and look to be inciting arguments.

Sorry I didnt want it to go into the whole Burger thing but for Fourie to make the claim so long after the match is just a bit silly.

Thats fine Sean, but as you can tell this is a hot issue for many people on the forum and we need to ensure that debate stays just a little more cooled down than it's been getting.

For the record I also feel that Fourie has came out with this far too late. It's obvious he's trying to defend PdV, but it's so mis-guided that it's not funny. The media are kind of fishing for stuff now though too.

God I really dislike Fourie. I remember his comments about Fiji pre-quarter final. Arrogant, disrespectful and full of it.

I'm sure he had only positive things to say about the Fijians after they beat the Welsh

You do realise this is a rugby forum yeah? I dont think I've seen you post anything relating to rugby once that hasnt involved insulting one of the european sides. I suppose your consistent but why not discuss the match once in a while as opposed to telling us who you like the least.

Christ... Despite that the second test was an absoloute gem of a contest, the sooner this tour is over and forgotten the better at this rate.

For the next one, all journolistic opinions and interviews with players or coaches should be banned. That's the only bloody way people may attempt to concentrate on the rugby itself.

Man this is getting out of hand... I think the Lions are the worst losers in the world, and the South African are the worst ****-stirrers in the world. I can't believe all of this is happening because of one player.

I told every single one of you Schalk Burger is **** and must go away forever. Look what he did! He !@#$ed up 12 years of preperation!!! I'm going to find him, then just jump on his face and proceed in removing his eyeballs while i sing the national anthem.[/b]

Not just because of "one player." Your Coach, then, decided to "make things better" by condoning and trying to excuse the "one player."
The media and the fans love controversy, remember O'Driscoll and Umaga from the last series? Well, now we have Fitzgerald and Burger. Everyone feeds off of it, the papers make money, we get emotionally charged and then bam! we have a banger of a match on saturday with all the lions fans saying derogatorry things about the South Africaners.

Dream on, the way things are going the arguments are still going to be raging by the time the Lions rock up in Aussie-land in 2013.

I for one am getting tired of all this acrimony. Can't we all just be friends?

:hunt: :injured:

Guess not.

From the paper in Wales today.

Fourie said: "In one of the close defensive situations with their replacement fly-half Ronan O'Gara, I was on the receiving end of eye-gouging."[/b]
He didn't actually say it was ROG who gouged him.

I note that Burger was still on the pitch with his ocular surgery scalpels! ;)

Just spin from the Saffa's media ... people should just ignore it.

The article is printed in the Western Mail but states in it that it comes from a SA reporter.

Well to be honest that accusations look a bit ????????? Questionable

God knows that

I don't care what Jaque Fourie has to say.
I'm still angry at him for scoring that try and until I've forgiven him he can suck a lemon.
