please have your say on the Callum Jennings ban, i have sent an e-mail to the sky sports rugby club on this matter asking them to discuss the ban and share their opinions with us. please e-mail them on [email protected] and post your comments. We all have to remember that a fellow rugby player has lost the use of... one of his most important parts of the human body and will never have the use of it again. we all feel for Alan and his life that has been affected in such a way by an accident. we know that the RFU can not be moved on their ruling but we just want everyone to look at the case and make there own mind up. please pass it around the world of sports cheers

Right, someone explain this story to me or post a link please?

He's gone for 5 years ... creates an interesting debating point.

I am after a full debate as we need to understand how they reached there verdict.

also, i have spoken to the barrister on the case an he is willing to travel the clubs in his own time to discuss the findings and answer any questions that people may have on this subject. he is based in the midlands..

clearly double standards the irb wants to be tough on eye injurys and foul play then be fair to all the amount of caps or your club name shouldnt matter

this is madness julien dupuis got a fraction of this not only for gouging once but for going in a second time at ferrises eyes...as this guy is not a big name player the IRB want to make it out as if they have a tough stance on gouging...as long as your not a test player of course....

gouging is the most despicable act one can do on a rugby field and is utter cowardice but after hearing all this its evident the guy didnt mean to do it....why does he get 5 years and someone wh deliberately attacks another players eyes gets off so lightly ....tis a joke

If the governing bodies want to get tough on it make it across the board, weather you play for Bedwas or Borguion if you gouge you get the ban the law says.

A couple of things need to be clarified. The RFU banned Mr Jennings and the IRB(?) banned Schalke Burger last summer. That must mean that the RFU and IRB have no communication in regards to discipline and therefore no consistency. I'm not going to suggest that all cases of foul play are handled by the IRB, that would be unworkable, but to have 1 IRB member on the discipline committee who can remind the committee of precedents, guidelines etc.
