Jersey have been docked two points and fined £5,000 over the circumstances surrounding Ben Maidment's suspension in pre-season.
Maidment was sent off against Coventry and it was thought he would serve his ban the following week against French side Le Rheu.
The Rugby Football Union said that game never happened and it was not informed.

From reading on it looks like nobody knew who was responsible for actually telling the RFU about the missed match. Or conveniently forgot who was responsible
