The world's last known combat veteran of World War I, Claude Choules, has died in Australia aged 110.

What lessons could have been learned from what those eyes have witnessed. RIP Tommy.
 
The last of those from the Great War. I know they weren't all saints, but there doesn't seem to be the class of courage and selflessness in the world now as exhibited by the people of the two World Wars. RIP Claude.
 
Yeah the world has certainly changed alright. War is no longer some kind of adventure for 15 year olds to set off on. Soldiers are no longer heroes fighting evil.

Not sure if thats a good thing or a bad thing.

I hear what you're saying, but people always have the same desires and hopes. Nothing new under the sun, just different ways of getting one over, getting by.
