I know a couple people on here have been talking about this game. I don't think the game will ever get licensed but is there a possibility we could just mod them in teams, players etc. obviously I don't mod so I don't know how difficult it is just thought I would ask.

Hi guys, I tested compatibility between RC4 and JLRC4. We wont be able to directly add stuff from RC4 into the game. RC4 runs on Unreal Engine 4.22.2 and JLRC4 on 4.27.2. This means everything must be converted to the newer version of UE before the game accepts it.

Mods:
I have managed to convert RC4 and RC3 kits and textures to UE 4.27.2 and they work fine. To kick things off I am working on kits for the international teams. Converting RC3 & 4 mod kits and also making some new ones. I will share the mod as soon as its done.

To add the correct kit collars the db file must be edited. Witch means there will be a db file included in the mod. When you replace your db file your custom teams, players, kits, lineups and competitions will be lost. Only option is to do all the in kits in the game first or just accept the collars as is and try to work around that. This can be sorted out with a db editor.

Players:
We need to figure out how we can get licenced players from RC4 into the game. This will require a lot of hex editing on the db file and also converting the player textures to UE 4.27.2 (witch we already know is possible). I did try to link the RC4 EDITOR to the game but with no luck. I will keep trying to figure something out.

At this stage it seems easier to use Fan Hub to create and share players and teams. It would be nice if the devs could just somehow fuse RC4 Fan Hub with JLRC4. I doubt it would be possible.

Stadiums will also be difficult to add into the game. But all is possible. Most difficult would be getting the moding community to commit and do stuff. I'm sure we can also get Frans's RC4 editor working with a bit of tinkering. We will most probably need him to do it.

Adding in some kits is one thing but it would take ages for one guy to do everything. And even if we had a committed community, is it really worth all the time and work?

I still think RC4 is the best because of its customizability and gameplay sliders. Also love the BE A PRO mode. But there are some issues and things that need to be fixed and updated (like a 50/22). If the devs agree to fix some stuff it might be worth moding everything.

Rugby 25 is also getting better. Very very slowly. In the meantime i'll be doing some kits.

Legend thanks for that info. I never got Rc4 so I was hoping someone would just do kits and teams was the main thing. Find it hard to have fun on an unlicensed game. Thank you tho appreciate it

Awesome, I think it will be worth it, been emailing the head of development, and it seemed like they were going to try and improve some things, I had requested for them to add up to 5 in the ruck back in, because for Rugby Challenge 4 it was taken out. And fast forward a few weeks , they did add this to the latest patch update. Many people don't realize this, but RC4 originally when first released, had up to 5 in a ruck, but then a patch that fixed other things and bugs, they removed that feature. Even though I may only add 4-5 to a ruck a few times in a 20 minute half game, I like to have the option to do it. So it seemed like they are eager and game to add improvements. I suggested penalties in scrums, and scrums that had better reward system for playing them to perfection.

Awakens thanks for that bro. I think just a couple mods just to add some licensing would make this game definitely more fun.
